Hello?

skrebbel:
i havent seen it yet its downloading but basically i am assuming its a pretty kewl usual animated demo similar to heaven7 etc....

in the uk using average figures
100 towns x 200 views per town x 5pence royalties per view =£1000 per month x 3 (estimate 3 months before everyone is bored of it)
so its worth around £3k in royalties for online broadcasting as a protected win media stream

advertiser pays commercial director/production costs upfront+ max20 p per view -10p domain promotion costs -5p advert sales commission

that should work out about the same as normal tv per headcount? not sure?

its a hard slogg though
you wanna try selling the commercials!!!

sometimes you can advertise your own product or something like the crayzee frog ringtone advert
and make hundreds of thousands even millions in profits from the sales results and also perhaps get shares in the company which is advertising but as i said its usually a hard sell untill your customers love you

this is what we should hope to do with TeleMate.tv
once i get my head into sales and business again
(I took a break from it 10yrs ago and have been an artist ever since???? whyy???? i'm poor now :( ?

damn ive downloaded it but it wont play on my laptop(gr card) i'll try it again tommorrow on my other machine..

ps(ref post above) based on these figures i guess that means that in the states heaven7 is worth maybe min 30k+ and that new inside outside one maybe £300k!!!.....
when we launch telemate.tv i want demoscene tv on there and i want symphony 2004 to start up on launch of the site....that plastic fork guy has got balls!! pfork if u are here i bow down to you...

i just hope that the wealth of inexperienced interweb TV wannabees dont undersell .....cos it needs to be 20p per view and no less.....any less than 15p per view per commercial and u'r looking at trouble and failures and i just wont bother....

Oh and it has to be a decent commercial advert....one that people watch.....like on normal TV....banner ads DONT WORK well enough

there u go theres my take on it take it or leave it...
ppss(ref the 2 posts above) if its a pretty boring one less than average or average you might get £200 upto £700 as it would be used as a filler inamongst the better stuff on a successfull channel...

thats all from me folks!!!
Why would anyone pay to watch crappy demos? Please, go away.

And an even more interesting question is: How would you divide it among the creators. JcL for example added 4 characters of code to the production which Skrebbel mentioned. What would he get?

i havent seen it yet but the review is poor....so as i said its pob only worth 200-500 as a filler in amongst better stuff
the broadcaster would probably find out who was involved and distribute moneys to the creators according to what they are happy with.... :)

How much would Chimera pony up then? It certainly is a bloody piece of art, that one!

I watched it and first of all i thought it was a joke...but then alas! the sun shone through the watery haze and a great ray of light shone down and a voice said ***CHILLOUT CHANNEL***

yes it is definately art and i loved the chillout music
So here's my market appraisal

a chillout domain name like chill.tv or whatever
would stream this and sell a commercial trailer to a skincare company or sunbeds/massage/ natural healthremedies market for the sums mentioned above (3K)

also could be sold into chillout rooms/installations in nightclubs

so there you are :)
it just goes to show there is gold at the end of the rainbow :)

but we dont do demos to promote suncream ;)

no thats the bit i want to do :)
i mean its all very well getting this stuff onto studentsart dot com and pouet for peoples viewing pleasure but i feel an obligation at studentsart to atleast try to make something out of it..... if i can
and if it is ok by the artist
:)
maali: Lang Huxley asked how much it was worth so i worked out a bit :) and answered his question thats the best i can come up with...3KMAX for online stream + nightclub chillout rooms
pinkpanther/richieb, you must be either:
- a troll/fake
- 12 years old
- a retard

for someone based in the uk, you really have a problem communicating in english. and your website is god awful ugly (which pretty much puts paid to any "artist" credentials you could make claim to). sooo, even if your ideas werent bizarre and based entirely in fanasty, nobody would support them anyway.

here it shows scene ain't your average silly hobby thang:D // pink panther, you're not in a kindergarten, thanks for your open heart tho':D

btw, i hate students;)

we've updated the info section so you can see how awfully wrong you are....
http://www.tbsac.freeserve.co.uk/promo.htm
studentsart is non profit making and run by volunteers...so why should we even bother even listening to your unfounded and bizzarre comments

read the info and please stfu unless you haver a positive contribution to make....i dont have time for it! and i certainly dont get paid to take any crap :)

i really like what u're doing its just that u seem to lack a grip of reality

[quote]i really like what u're doing its just that u seem to lack a grip of reality[quote]
ive been working with art, philosophy, religion, business/group dynamics for far too long to be able to
trust most peoples version of what reality is.....

but as a result i do sometimes grip my chair and thank god for it :)

so anyway the idea of this thread was to determine what to do about adding a computer generated/programmers art section at studentsart?
or wether to just link to one place like pouet or where?

hello?
well, kid... lemme tell you this.. life aint a picknick ;)

honestly, i do not think many sceners will actually enjoy having their pieces of art (to stay in your jargon) linked to you and your silly artsite-crap. If fact, i'd see it as a lame act of moneymaking over our backs.

As smash said, the artistic value of your website is basicly NULL, which seriously makes me doubt too about your artistic skills.. and as i've said before: stop trolling around, go work on your skills so you dont have to beg us for content on those silly websites of yours. quality attracts quality.. in your case, good luck ;)

the reality is, noone takes u seriously here, trust it or not // and what do u want to achieve by asking things here @ pouet? especially when u have nothing to contribute with:: your website is pathetic and unconvincing, just a proof u are in desperate need for a visit to ye old clue shoppe // anyone?

our site will be re-designed soon with a new back end etc with the help of volunteers...
if people dont want their work archived and displayed to attract help thats upto them....
as for making money...I WISH...i lose money from it...its non profit making...

we want to add a computer generated/programmed art section or link to somewhere like pouet so we dont have to re-invent the wheel...because often computer generated art is better than normal art so then you will see the content at the site improved...
ppanth, pouet.net is not a forum of students making art. it's a forum of high-level IT-workers making art. so, go somewhere else.

so there are no students here who are learning to be high-level IT workers/demo makers?
and you dont know anywhere where we can link to to provide resources for our student programmers...

fine!!??
that explains it...

i'll go get on with my other work then :)
