NORDLICHT 2026 - NOT happening in JULY!

I'll cut straight to the chase: Unexpected personal events in my family that are beyond my control (but that I cannot discuss here) are clashing with our plans so far to host Nordlicht in July 2026. The party will NOT take place in the summer months this year. Please cancel your hotel bookings, if any!
I'm currently in touch with the party location owners to negotiate whether or not a new date can be secured, for example in the fall holiday season (that's October!) or whatever else options emerge. Due to many outside factors not directly decided by ourselves, we'll have to trial and error all remaining possibilities.
Nordlicht is not off the table! If we can make it work on another date, we will! We're massively excited about the party just as much as you are! <3

Oh don't worry, it is all good. The circumstances why we cannot go ahead with Nordlicht in July this year are actually happy ones! Two weddings to be exact, one within my own family (but without my involvement), the other involving another scener.
The chosen dates for these weddings sadly clash with the only available weekend on which the current party location (BGO) would have been available to us, leaving us hanging in the air. Since being invited to these events, a handful of core organizers, including myself, will not be able to attend Nordlicht. As a result, organizing it becomes impossible.
While I will make an attempt to negotiate an alternative date for the fall holiday season, online information suggests our chances are minimal, because the child care center inside the location might not close at all outside summer holidays, making the party hall unavailable for overnight bookings on any other date in the year.
Unless we can work out a miracle solution with BGO or find an equally worthy party venue, it is safe to say that Nordlicht 2026 won't happen! However, once I know for sure, we'll pour all our efforts into bringing you an even more excellent party in 2027.
Until then, we recommend visiting any of the plentiful other great demoparties around, Revision being next, where you can spot many of us Nordlicht organizers either as part of that particular party's team, or as visitors, to share some beers and dialogue with :)
