For real: The long pc demo blocks are indeed a problem - at least for me. I tried hard to get enough sleep, but the last 2 years I just couldn't last long enough and fell asleep (on my chair, in the hall!) while the pc demo block was running. I gave my feedback, but also can't judge if it's a problem for the majority of the people. In the end, the Revision orgas have the data, and I trust that they make the best possible decision, even if it means compromising sometimes.

My first demoparty was BP2008, and I loved it for what it was and will always remember the great times. But what Revision has evolved into, I love even more. The easterparties simply became more and more mature, and today, Revision is a very professional event. So, I can't wait, and just hope I'll make it through the pc demo block this time ;)

When posting the above, my medication level appears to have been off and a bipolar swing in progress. All my points stand, but the tone once more was far more aggressive than it should have been. I clearly got triggered by the counter-productive and dangerous CoC write-up. And I should be advanced enough by now not to get triggered, so I am not happy with yesterday's performance of my brain.

Revision isn't a nation state. It's a private event run by volunteers. It also isn't "the demoscene". If you don't like how it's run, you are free not to go to it. Simple as that. Deadline and revision sets are actively absolutely ruined this way. It's not background visuals... It's so much effort preparing a show like this.
I get that the light equipment is expensive and is an artform, but most people don't give a shit about it - they are here for computer graphics on a screen.
Dark room + super bright projector makes the whole room be illuminated by it. The VJ becomes the lighting director. You can't get into it when it's a fight between the fog/lights and the screen, which the fog and lights always win.
There's a reason why lights are off during compos. You are 100% in the music and the visuals.

Maybe save the light shows for DJ sets without visuals?
