Micro Kid's - Demo anthology
category: general [glöplog]
From 1991 to 1995, more than 200 demos were featured on national French TV in the show named "Micro Kid's".
Here's a video anthology containing most of the demos - some are unfortunately missing. It's 97mn long :)
A sheet with a nearly complete list is available in description.

fabulous! thank you a lot Cyril! :D
Merci beaucoup pour ce petit cadeau! :D
Less than a minute in, and this video is already pure gold just on the strength of hearing a Frenchman pronounce the title "Ooh Crikey Wot A Scorcher".
That's really cool, thank you!
great preservation effort, thank you! Would you be fine with putting this to scene.org for archival? I think /resources/media/video/ would be the right folder.
Excellent. Where can I find the full shows?
That TV show was gold :)
Thanks for putting this together.
Thanks for putting this together.
my first encounter with demos, I had to wake up earlier on Sunday to catch it!
That's amazing, thanks.
@v3nom sure! I don't know if there's a way to keep the credits (the video description, really), maybe with a nfo? I never uploaded anything to scene.org before.
@_SoLO_ some are available on abandonware-videos.org in very bad quality, all the others come from the MO5.COM archives and there's no plan to share them outside the association right now - or even inside, we're considering ways of doing it but unfortunately the archives are quite consequent. If you're in France and near an INA search service, you can watch the full shows on their consultation stations for free: check https://www.inatheque.fr/consultation.html. Browsing through their amazing TV archive is actually something I recommend to try at least once.

@fenarinarsa: yes, you can add a textfile with the same filename as the video file, only with .diz ending - then the metadata/info will be displayed on files.scene.org and stored on the server.
and thanks for the preservation effort - i had absolutely no idea about this show!
Amazing, thanks so much for putting this together.
I used to watch the TV show on Saturday (or Sunday?) mornings and the demo excerpts at the end was probably my first exposure to the demoscene proper.
