To be fair, only one of those 4 prods i mentioned can be even called a demo in some sense (Budbrain megademo 1) ...but it is still shit.

Mm. Just to clear any confusion:

Internet is as much a demo as your mother is a demo, but internet can be an entry as well as your mother can be a entry. They are not demos. But demos can be entries too.

And Entries can be submitted into Competitions. And in Competitions, we can apply the rules of democracy to vote, and finally produce results.txt.

And this thread is about shittiest demo and not shittiest entry.

Yep, and after 4 years, thats what I learnt. Ever since getting into physical creative art, I now understand what its about: Feelings, emotions, or even just expressing what you want in your head. So now getting back into it, but not really caring about what people feel about them, and avoiding the comments section on my own shit.

Not chasing votes, glops, making it desirable for the masses. I seen recently some people doing demos exactly how they want and get a mixed response, but genuinely they are still great things since its clear some effort went into them, which I deeply respect.

Just look at Wrighter's most recent prods and Dubmood and co's "Anamie". Brilliant prods in their own right and quite free in their design, but not getting mass appeal at all.

They just made what they felt is fine to them, and thats cool. I respect that.

That is how everything should be done IMHO, something that feels good to you.
