We all know the value of a pouet bbs-thread...

hopefully someone will demonstrate this by posting clown-scat-porn here now..

i think diskmags belong into the pre-internet area.
come on and do a website, maybe flash or whatever....

im curious how the next hugi issue will turn out actually. adok seems to be trying to do the right thing for a change (after like 4? years of not caring)
am wondering if its cheap talk or if he can also walk the walk. we'll see.

*has a weird mental image of ps and adok doing a 'west side story' style dance-off*

@bartman
and demos belong in the pre-Ghz CPU area. That didn't stop the demoscene ;-)

If Adok does do it right, we'll be happy for it and forget the EP incident.
Maybe I'll write something. It's always nice to see a shit mag turn into a quality read (as seems to have happened with Scene World on the C64) but I'm not sure an article by me would help or hurt the cause of promoting excelence in diskmags.

I like the environment that a diskmag creates but I always wish I could look at them from machines that dont give me permission to download and run exe's.

I really wish there were more places were informative information about demos was exchanged, not that we need walkthoughs on every topic but just some nice information from smart kids who like to write it for people who want to learn.

I dont care much for reading things about dying scenes, the future of diskmags, or people's silly philosophies, but I like reading about parties and effects and all the different talents these people seem to have.

Anyway, I doubt anyone cares about what a newbie like me likes to read though, but good luck on the next issue, I hope some of you kids write some interesting stuff.

like a webmag? like scenezine?
Breakpoint 2005 has given me a lot of inspiration. I also had the opportunity to talk with people about Hugi there. Basically my plan is to make the section structure of Hugi #31 closer to the structure of Hugi #14 - #17, which I consider the best issues released so far. This implies a dominance of sections such as Demoscene Forum and Partyline. I'll also publish two articles in every issue again - an introduction to the demoscene and one about the philosophy of Hugi. The idea behind this is that Hugi should among other things serve as a means of attracting new, talented people to the demoscene.

I've selected pictures and music that will probably match more people's tastes, and done some modifications to the layout (such as a smaller font in 2-column articles, similar to Hugi #18). We need more quality graphics and music for the future issues - please send us your works of art. cdvolko@gmx.net

In order to make the new issue as great as it would be desirable, we need a lot more articles. Currently Hugi #31 consists mostly of articles I wrote myself.

I've thought of many topics which I'm writing, or planning to write, articles about. There are two topics in my list which I'll most likely not write an article about myself because I don't have enough knowledge at these areas:

- Demoscene on consoles
- Noise demos (philosophy, technology - why do people do this kind of things?)

If you are interested in writing an article (or several ones), then please contact me (cdvolko@gmx.net). The magazine will contain the sections Demoscene Forum, Partyline, (maybe Diskmags,) Coding Corner (if we get articles for it!), Miscellaneous. Basically Hugi is open for any topic you consider interesting.

If you need some more inspiration, there is a list of scene/coding/graphics related topics you could write about at http://hugi.scene.org ("Requested Articles").
