Demoscene at SIGGRAPH 2025
category: general [glöplog]
Hello,
Who will be attending SIGGRAPH 2025 next month?
If you're attending, please join the Demoscene Birds of a Feather warlock and I organise. We've requested it to be scheduled on Thursday 2025-08-14 from 13:00 to 14:00, but the final schedule has yet to be confirmed.
Those sessions are very casual and can take any shape, from presentation to open discussion, and have been done several times in the past and met with success.
We're looking for speakers for 5 to 10 minute slots. If you have topics to discuss or content to show, whether it's a production you can talk about, some technique, experiment or toolchain, or the Unesco recognition effort, please contact us (here, Discord or mail). We expect the audience, 50 to 100 people, to be a mix of art oriented and tech oriented people, who are curious but not necessarily very familiar with the demoscene and will be interested in hearing different perspectives.
IQ already opened another thread about submitting to the Real-time Live!, which is a different topic.

Hope to be there some day! Could definitely give some short tech talk about realtime gfx
@smash: Nice. Will you be at the BOF too? Would you like to present some of the stuff you've been working on lately?
With totetmatt (who won't be there alas), we're discussing doing a topic on live coding; extending it to live performance in general would be cool.

I'll be attending SIGGRAPH this year and, although my scene proclivities tend very much towards old school, I'll look forward to the meet up. Thanks for organising!

Hey Zavie, thanks for organizing the BOF, I'll be there.
Do you have a plan in mind for it?

Will be there as well
Sweet, thanks for organizing. Any other more unofficial demoscene get togethers planned?
Wish I was there too. Live stream planned?
if anyone at siggraph fancies drinks this evening (wednesday), we could make a plan.
Hi,
Sorry I hadn't been paying attention to Pouët at all once I was on site.
Thank you for showing up.
Thanks to totetmatt and Cédric for their presentation, and to provod for his demonstration of live coding (which was particularly popular based on the feedback I received).
