Amiga World Records
category: general [glöplog]
Hi!
Record fever seems to have returned to the platform lately, which is a good thing :)
Is there an ‘official’ place where Amiga world records are listed?
I am currently curious to know which is the biggest 4x4 rotozoom in HAM7. I'd say it's Inside the Machine with 80*49=3920 chunky pixels, is it?
Thanks!

Hello Rhino,
Rhino, you are asking about the biggest 4x4 rotor-zoomer. The topic's name is "Amiga Wolrd Records", which sounds global for more then one records.
Would you llike to talk here only about the rotor-zoomer, or would it be a good idea (I think it would be) to have an "official" list of Amiga records such as Glenz, dots, scroll-zommer, balls, gouraud vectors et etc? =)
Cheers!

In this thread we could talk about any Amiga record. But, I don't know if this thread would be the best place to make the ‘official’ list. Maybe we could use it for that temporarily, but ideally the list should be in a place where it can be displayed more clearly updated than here.
An ‘Official World Records’ section here on pouet or demozoo, organised by platform would be ideal imo. But at the moment, such a thing is just a dream :)

We can eventually (I think it would be nice) start it here and when it be quite mature, we can think about sth more official, on Pouet/Demozoo.
Being said that, let's start by your question - the biggest 4x4 roto-zommer in HAM7 =).

Most dots using ... what method? Sin*Sin? Sin*Evil? :)

If going strictly by size then HSDV by Damones has an 88x64 chunky pixels HAM7 rotozoomer, but it does run in two frames
Yes, there may be a problem with the number of categories and subcategories but at least we could create a more general category, for example, most any type of sine dots + the most popular sine dots subcategories, and so on for each FX.
We can also talk here about the categories that should be included in the official list.

Amazing! but I don't know if dividing the amount of the record by the number of frames to be able to compare it with one frame fxs would be accurate, so I would restrict records to one frame fxs only.
We could probably have a separate record for true 4x4 like in ITM, and the alternating 8x1 copper chunky thing that gives 4x4 effective resolution. I've have versions of both that I'd like to release :-)
