I'm incredibly saddened by this news. Thanks for all your wisdom, support and kind words. Rest in peace, Sting, you worked very hard for it.

He tried so hard to ge tme into making an Amiga, with giving me encouraging advice and a whole lot of code to build on. Sadly, I never did. I was just thinking about that a few days ago and thought of shooting him a message after so many years.

I never made the demo, but I think I will. Godspeed, old friend.

Oh noooo! I owe that man pretty much everything in regards entering serious Amiga coding.
I was hoping that his increasing absence was just the result of him living his live, enjoying his cars -- IIRC he was quite a VW gearhead -- and finding a sweetheart.
To find out like this, that the latter part at least seemed to have worked out until the end, is both devastating and comforting at the same time.

Rest easy now, Sting0r.

I pissed him off at some Breakpoint party, by uncovering a small bug in his demo, which made the entry difficult to capture

@Charlie: I believe it's this one, https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=50156 done in 2008 and with HAM video sequences in there which were categorically denied by capturing hardware. Dirtie had his video-machine at the party and we desperately tried to find a way to get the "infamous illegal PAL signal" ... to no avail.

I was amazed by this demo simply because of that HAM8 FMV sequence, it really showed what AGA could do with high-end CPUs. Excellent work!

Rest in peace.
You were so kind, so available, so attentive to our little problems. Thank you for all your help and everything you gave us
another devastating loss.

Just recently, I saw a VW Golf 1 on the highway and thought of Stingray. He drove one too. And at that moment, I secretly hoped he would make a scene-comeback, like some before him. We miss you, Stinger, rest in peace.

A truly remarkable person, humble and genuine.
I will miss our email exchanges… We rarely talked about computers, but more often about life and the experiences that shape us. Rest in peace, Sting.

I'll never forget "flying" to Breakpoint and back in the passenger seat of Sting's beefed-up Golf I, complete with 5-point harness, roll cage and absent rear seats - so much fun! =)

He taught me a lot about 68K and Amiga, which informed quite a bit of my knowledge of computing and programming in general.

Always humble, modest, down-to-earth and helpful - pretty sure he'll be missed by a lot of people.

I hoped he was simply too busy at work or with his VW Golf I cars to answer my
emails or to leave any comments in the recent past. The truth hurts! He was a
smart and kind guy who really seemed to care. I will miss him and our
correspondence which I always ended with "Grüße in die Zentrale der Macht aus
Tschentscher City". What I found fascinating was that his responses sounded in
large parts like I had written them myself. I don't know if he had a talent to mirror
someone else's writing or if we were indeed similar in that point. Sting, you'll be
missed.
My condolences to is family and friends.
