Neat!
Nice :) congrats! Its good for the scene your infrastructure lives on!
Scamp: Everything is quite slow and I hardly get access to any of the folders on the ftp to upload stuff.
Please send a traceroute to both ftp.untergrund.net and yourdomain.untergrund.net. Preferably via SceneCity chat.
Anyone else having slow FTP?
Anyone else having slow FTP?
yes
scamp: check scenecity chat and pm. It's hardly usable atm :/
Firewall Problem solved, both active and passive FTP modes are now confirmed to be working again.
Scamp: THANKS! A LOT! Works like a charm :)
Cannot log in to chat.scenecity.net. After the SceneID login screen, the response from auth.scenecity.net is "404 Not Found No request handler found".
Still nothing? Anybody knows how Scamp can be reached?
Scamp: Are there any new problems? Seems I can upload stuff but files are not reachable for download.
https://chat.scenecity.net/ https://scenecity.chat are down as well.
Fixing scenecity took us too long, so we're running our own instance of Mattermost now, including mobile app and working notifications. Also I've set up some filespace (poor man's dropbox.) Drop me a mail if you're interested to hang around with us.
care to provide me your email address ?

Sorry, turned out that the data center move wasn't as unproblematic as thought. I was too busy to notice, but from our network infrastructure logic, both my home office and my office office are behind our core firewalls in the data center, so I've been "works for me" all the time.
So, this wasn't intentional.
Will fix it.

(I did notice that from day to day the number of people I was chatting with on the chat server was reducing... it worked as long as the cookie wasn't expired or someone had actively logged out of sceneid)
So, all problems should be fixed.
The most important one was: Back when the server was installed, some idiot (=me) had put the DNS entry of id.scene.org into /etc/hosts for whatever reason. It looks like id.scene.org moved to a different server with different IP last week. That was a reaaaally long hunt to find this one, but yes, it's a "Is it DNS?" classic.
Some other issues also fixed. The image privacy proxy was fixed. That proxy makes sure that if someone posts a linked image or a link to a website with a preview generated that the web server there never gets to see your IP address. Fixed some code bugs, renewed TLS cert. It now works again which means you you will get website/image/video previews.
One minor is left on my todo due to my TLS certificate provider having a system outage this WE it seems: For a year now, we are using chat.scenecity.net, not scenecity.chat, so a couple of weeks ago I let that TLS cert expire. Turns out some people still are using that alias. So I will re-add a certificate for that.
Scenecity.TV is still offline and the transcoding server array has been physically uninstalled, simply due to lack of interest - it's been a year since a demoparty last asked for having their party streamed. In case this ever changes, stuff is backupped and could be brought online again.
Until then: All hail to AmazonMuskTrumpDiscordTwitch, you crazy rebellious anti-establishment hacker pirates ! \o

ltk_tscc: Do you still have any problems with downloads on untergrund.net?
...HOWEVER, as it just turns out, while SceneCity was not a datacenter-move-firewall-issue, there was a firewall issue for the untergrund.net webserver. Also fixed now.
scamp - thanks for bringing it back.
