I think a lot of fediverse instances not running pixelfed block at least pixelfed dot social.
But technically you should be able to follow mastodon accounts and get their posts that contain pictures on your feed.

Searching/following from mas.to only shows a couple of posts, and metapixl.com 0.
pixelfed.de works both ways. You can see it in Mastodon. And Mastodon is visible in pixelfed.de.

pixelfed.social is an US Server as far as I know. Some instances block the US-pixelfed.
But pixelfed.de works.
pixelfed.uno for italy,
pixelfed.fr exists.
pixelfed.tokyo seems to be nice for the Japanese sceners.
pixl.fi for Finland
pixelfed.cz exists.
pixelfed.graz.social, Austria
bonn.pics for Bonn in Germany
sub-pixel.de is focussing on sub-culture
Should Meta be split up and X or Truth Social snatch up Insta and Facebook, these would be good alternatives.
