This is so interesting (and reason to love the demoscene). There is a revision coming up, and we have a discussion about music-disks! =)

Unpopular opinion: keep discouraging people from making demos by antagonizing newcomers on this platform. That’ll solve the problem over time.
But seriously, like gasman, kb and others pointed out - we are doing what we can but in the end there’s only so much that can be done. Saving 15 minutes here and there will be eaten up by a myriad of other delays that none of the visitors will ever see. Believe me, we don’t want to have compos until 4 in the morning either (surprise)!
This is a team of 85(!) people that are doing this out of passion and goodness of their hearts and we dismiss our health, vacation time and family concerns for this. Some of us are doing it for 20+ years. So yes, we want to be in bed at a reasonable time as well, sometimes it works, sometimes it won’t.
Maybe have a good nights sleep from Saturday to Sunday. Drink a crate of beer less than usual on Sunday morning. Take a 15 minute nap here or there and maybe, MAYBE, we can get through it together!

For me, the late nights are the best part. I do the boring going to bed early thing most of my life, and a lot of events that I've sofascened are done and dusted long before I've even had the chance to get a beer in me. And it was doubly enjoyable to soak up the Ambience last year, as a first-time attendee. I'm aiming for 2027 for my next one, Fates willing. All rail, from home to Partyplace, and back again.
