Wow, Youtube playlist "Compos" with 4 videos. Only 1 is shown at the moment, "Tracked music", and 3 "not available" videos are not shown. Is Youtube now already censoring art and demoscene stuff?

Woke up late for the prizegiving? You can seek back one hour on the SceneCity stream. If you are reading this message on xmas 2025, it's too late, though.

Trivia: If you saw an old, fat, nearly bald man dual-wielding 12-years-old cameras - that was me, working for the TRBL same-day party photo delivery service.

Before I do my usual thank you post, I have one thing on my mind:

Musicdisks in wild.

Look, I get it, they’re part of the culture, they always have lots of cool tunes and sometimes even an interestingly designed interface! I like to see them, but…

Maybe we gotta find a different solution to putting them in the Wild compo? At this point they kinda very often dominate the category, and I’ve heard no positive feedback about it.

Could we give them their own compo (Difficult for time logistic reasons)? Should be play (a few tracks of each of) them between compo blocks and still consider them releases votable (theres plenty of problems here I can imagine including but not limited feelings of unfairness or overdominating the party or whatnot)

I’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts on this!

tl;dr: musicdisk good, but not in Wild

Musicdisks dominates wild entries? This is new to me.

I read it as "dominating" time-wise. I felt the same way while watching wild, I did enjoy the tunes and graphics, but also got that feeling of "well, we're going to be watching this screen for 5 minutes now" every time a new music disk came up.

Musicdisks are a great moment to go for a pee. I do like snippets, but maybe 8 min is long. Tell me you made something cool, play a bit of it and where I can find it, golden!

Thank you revision organisation, for once again pulling this off. What an amazing party, so many good chats, with people I've known for years and people I've just met! Wish I had some more time to chat with people, especially the transatlantic folks!!!

Also, my first year not being a host (and any kind of organisation) was wild, not having to do anything is nice! And the current hosts do a fantastic job, thank you for making me able to retire. :D

And not being preselected for the tracker music compo felt just like the olden days, made me nostalgic in my 30 year anniversary of my scene career :D (Sorry to all people a whined to about not being played, needed to vent so hard!)

You are all wonderful people, it was so nice to be among you for these past days <3

As every year, Revision was a blast! Thanks to everyone who contributed to that amazing experience.

Not sure if there will be a feedback form available, so I'll give my feedback directly here: If there would be ONE thing I could change at Revision, it would be a better choice of food stands.

- The Burger stand had mixed quality - I had a great burger, while 2 friends had a rather medium experience
- The Crepe Stand was quite good
- The sausage stand could have been improved. They didn't surve real buns, and that piece of.... bread? was so small. They should have served proper buns ("Broetchen"). Othern than that ok
- Unfortunately, the worst stand was the pizza stand. 5 Euros for such bad quality was just not acceptable.
- Can't judge the cocktail stand, but from the looks it made a pretty good impression

From the pre-Covid years I remembered two food stands that were pretty good. One time you had a food stand that surved only Vegeterian food (at the same location where the burger stand was this year), I think it was wraps... that was cool.
And you used to have a pizza food stand that was really good, where e.g. they even put fresh Rucola salad on the pizza. That was by far the best pizza I had at a demoparty (not at all comparable what they surved this year).

Anyways, that's my only "constructive" feedback. All the other 1000 things were done sooo good. I think you are at such a high level, that many things are considered "normal" by now... e.g. having a superb beam team, a great working infopoint, good drinks, clean toilets, super stable network & power, and and and... everything just worked so good, even better at many corporate events I've been, where attendands had to pay a lot more money. Big kudos to y'all for all the time and effort you put in this event every single year!

YES! Can't emphasise enough how incredible the organisation is for pulling off an event of this scale so good it feels effortless. You rock <3

Well... Got a question about music...

During Wayjoe's performance @ Revision 2024, something came to my ears and sudendly made a guru meditation to my brain...
It was a simple melody pumped with boomboom behind, quite classical and nothing special but... I knew it and it took like some minutes to catch where it came from...
I was telling a friend "Oh wow, how come ?! Really ?! This in the mix ?! I know this, but can't remind where from... Raaaaah.." and brainseeking about it when Sergeant Slayer came to us...
And telling us he had the same bug, like "Wow, have you heard ?! Incredible !" then we started to brainseek together and arrived to "It's "T'en va pas" from Elsa" VS "No, it's the one with Glen Medeiros, Roman d'amitié"
Finalily i've just checked now and... It's Elsa - t'en va pas, the intro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewNHhcUcNWw

Ok, there was lotta Karlsberg Urpils but, yeah, we've heard it hahaha...

Well, well, well... My question could be "How could this (imho) crappy tune from the 80s soup who probably only had a life in the french soup market could be heard (as a sample or replayed) in a mix at... the Revision ?!?!? Sooo strange and odd hahaha...'. [nb : It only appeard once, like played one time and then gone...]

If Dojoe or Wayfinder are in the neighbourhood, I'll be really happy to know more about this really weirdo phenomenon hahaha...

BTW it was my first Revision and... Wow, it's intense hahaha...Big up to everyone <3 !
