@gargaj: they're only opening profiles publicly for non-logged users.

So far no date for the real public opening. They migrated all accounts to federated servers and currently the platform should be able to handle around ~10m active accounts, not enough for a real public opening. Currently there's around 800~900k MAU.

I'd bet on a public opening when they open the federation to anyone in a few months.
