Killing off productive people for reasons only happened due to misunderstandings-made-up-due-to-corona-only-online-parties surely didn´t help! :P
I really hate seeing the scene dying off like that! ;)
If you´d ask Dipswitch about the first ppl interacting with the scene still scening, i am sure he would at some point even mention me...he sent me a message once, where he said: "I found that posting of yours, where you must have been like 9 years old (1987), in that Scene-Mag, printed only in Germany! -> My Answer was ofcoz: "WOW, i knew i posted there, since i was like 6 (1984), but ofcoz i forgot WHAT i WROTE there at all, until now...thanks to you!" ;)
(He gave me a link to his scans back then and i remembered my own past thanx to him! thanx, dip!)
Too bad, i am not scening anymore for about 2 years, thanks to you ALL MOSTLY NEW-SKOOLERS (to me), having no idea what it all mean s/t (?!?!) to me! :P
I absolutely know one thing: If you all knew me a few bits better than you don´t, you´d know i am not even able to do what you think i did! ;)
Still sad here! Please just try to imagine what would have happened at a real party...how i would have had a chance to finish my bad joke and would have not get banned! This is just 100%! I would have not get banned! Even person you think i mistreated would have laughed at the end, maybe! But not letting ppl finish their sentences via banning from Discord leads to this! The Death of a splendid Culture! :/

This is you just repeating bullshit other ppl said before! I was a fan of you for some time! Maybe i still am, because of your abilities to produce nice stuff! But i am no fan of your personal ability to recognize bullshit or not! You don´t have to attack anyone for sth you think some1 did, if you have no evidence of it happened!

I honestly just have read the first entry by Pixtur and I have to say:
I feel quite the same. I also noticed there were some simple fun releases that didn't get any comments or votes. And even looking at the bigger releases overall the comments feel less constructive and nice than they use to be. We even get more feedback during our website or facebook nowadays.
For me this made me think about becoming more active again these days again and more often attend the local demoscene meetings here in the area, because you get much more feedback there, than on Pouet.
I still add my/our releases to Pouet and I'm grateful for the guys maintining it and it still is the only place I have a look for what was released lately.
Possibly I also have to also become active here more often, to keep it going, because I also feel like I have to comment and vote more often. At least this made me think about it and I'll try.
Demozoo is nice, but the design is awful and it even feels more like this is just something people look without getting into a dialogue.

Block "coup de coeur" is freezy? "Strange feelings by haujobb" is displayed there for several months. I remember that it used to change more often :)
For me the scene is more or less dead. There are some interesting 256-byte intros released from time to time, but that's all that catches my interest. I especially think so because of the non-existence of PC diskmags. In the past the diskmags were what I was interested in most.
Still I often check out pouet.net, which is mostly due to my lack of other interests.

People grow. Interests change. So do their relationships with their interests.
It's no secret that the culture of online communication generally gravitated towards polarizing sharing of opinions during the last decade.
If you miss the kind of comment you enjoy reading: how about writing it yourself?
If you miss the kind of production you'd like to see: how about creating it yourself?
The people I met at Evoke seemed pretty alive. The competitions were highly enjoyable. There were at least 20 people for whom it was the first demoparty ever. And everybody of them that I spoke to, very much enjoyed it.
In the end, "the scene is dead" says more about the person saying it, than the thing that's being observed.

for some reason, I thought that this block changes randomly after a certain period of time (a week, a month?). Why not? Just any prod that has "coup de coeur".
It stayed like this for that long to remind us that once upon a time... there was a supergroup called Haujobb :'-(
Haujobb is not dead.
I'm not sure why ham chose that release specifically (though I can guess), but Haujobb had three releases this year already. Whether or not they are still a "supergroup" I cannot say, but the group is not dead.
ok true. Maybe I miss the days of Visualice and co. although I wasn't a huge fan back then (maybe because he was so far ahead - it's called envy), but times change.

@fizzer: No need to guess. Despite the fact that I have also seen their most recent productions, I have seen those in streaming and after downloading them from the internet while the one I have given as an example I saw at the party where, in addition, I met people from Haujobb like noname and hellfire. They looked pretty alive.

You're probably right, but whether he is or isn't coming back is just the nature of our creative subculture - we do these things only because we want to.
exactly, don't force things. If they happen they happen. Don't fall to peer pressure to release at a party or in general. But if they did - that would be fab.

Visualice released a new farbrausch animation outside any compos shortly after revision, i mentioned it on my monthly report but i think most people still missed it since it only has like 100 views on his youtube channel and is not added on neither pouet nor demozoo.
