We will have the same competitions as last year, Jingle and PC invite are in the works, infos about remote submissions and ticket prices will be coming soon.

Does anyone know if it's - by train - better to travel back to Holland over Cologne or via Frankfurt? I believe both cities offer a connection to the ICE back to Utrecht/Amsterdam.

Now this is very interesting, controversial approach and statement :)

1. What is a "visual effect"? If I let myself play a pattern faster/slower depending on the tempo, is it already unfair? Isn't the mere display of notes already a kind of visual effect? And I assume someone will be actually judging if my pattern effects were necessary or simply there for the lulz? ;)

2. "...the music, what this compo is about." - well... no. That's what streaming compo is for. Tracked compo is for geeks who want to test themselves in a limited environment and we actually love to look at all those notes and wiggles inside.

And it's not that I care about it so much. These visual additions no longer impress me much (technically), and at times even annoy me if done too much. But the whole point of banning them is veeery unnecessary, IMO.

So the audience is considered too dumb to figure out the difference between cheap eye catcher, nice gimmick and impressive music? No further comment needed.

I can't wait to enter the demo world !

In my experience the audience is exactly that dumb ;)

As an example, I can't remember how the h0ffman tune from a few years ago sounds (even if it was a great track and a worthy winner AFAIR), but I can definitely remember the pattern trickery with moving patterns backwards and so on.

And while we're at it, could 5min long talking head introductions be moved from the Wild compo to the Video/Animation compo? :)

@tft I'm not gonna ride the train due to hunky chunky cyberpunk-of-doom Amiga tower as luggage. I just hope that everyone whi iiizzz ridin' the train will have a good'n ;)
