BOOZEDROME V
category: parties [glöplog]
organizing a compo online is easy, it's all the offline pomp and circumstance we do that makes it a bit of a chore sometimes :)
On CSDB, there are online SID compos all the time, anyone can arrange one. Usually there are no prizes. Compos like "Was that Rob Hubbard?"-compo, "Non-standard Time Signature"-compo, "Techno"-compo, etc. They're not always very popular, but usually almost any compo will get 5-10 entries. The currently running "Crack Intro Music Competition 2022" has 60+ entries with still a week to go. A culture like that for Amiga MODs would actually be very welcome!
At some point I was thinking about a UK hardcore Amiga mod. compo..
Seconding what deetsay says, there are however some discord channels for example doing that, but could be more available to everyone.
Well if it's true that organizing a compo like that is easy, so far I haven't seen efforts in making something like Boozedrome, which includes also some IRL action, like the "Boozembly Hills".
Also these compos that deetsay said are for C64. But I haven't seen something like that for the AMIGA.
Ok, I know there are AMIGA music compos in demoparties like GERP, but they're like "make whatever you like" which isn't that bad but isn't the same as Boozedrome, where your tunes need to be specific to one style (in this case, Gabber)
I would even like to organize one but the problem is that I can't host a small compo party (as I live in Italy, far from Finland) Hence why I said it would be nice if the same organizers of Boozedrome would organize something also for Drum and Bass, UK / Happy Hardcore (which I produce too) or other rave genres.

I believe this is the perfect occasion to "make a compo about it"
Off the top of head... There's the TRSAC acid compo, Inercia's drone compo, and there was a big beat compo at Hogmanay a couple of years ago. So they do happen.
Looks like the stream is live: https://www.twitch.tv/dekadencedemo
