Really disappointing how you guys: fizzer, noby, scamp, kb and okkie seem incapable of having a proper debate about something and fall back to polemic dirty argument tactics and distraction when challenged or confronted with facts. Always thought this was a community of people who like to flex their brain a bit... but sure lets bring this thread back on track and have some pointless "4k compo hype" chatter. At least this year you guys will have a chance to win the 4k compo.

@noby: Nobody should be forced to vaccinate … because there were deaths as a result of vaccination. Even if the possibility is 500.000:1 there’s still a chance of dying. So if you force 1 million people to vaccinate two of them will probably die and you are responsible for it.
Then what happens if you convince 1 million people to not get vaccinated? What is the ratio then?

Thing is that I don't really even know where you're coming from. The vaccine is wholly recommended by medical and healthcare professionals to literally everyone. It's at best irresponsible to try to exercise bothsidesism and convince people to hesitate on health matters based on flimsy personal research. If you refuse to trust professional guidance on a matter as important as this, there is no argument to be had; you're just making a case for unhealthy, unwarranted skepticism.

noby: maybe you want to re-read my original post, or my answer to your previous post, all the sources I name are the official ones our government bases their decisions on. Every example I brought up are documented and vetted decisions and recommendations by health-care professionals (aka doctors). I'm doing anything but refusing to trust professional guidance, all I did was pointing out that there's not a single "safe for everyone" drug on the whole planet, despite what you and some others may want to believe.
If you want to say your government knows better than the german one I'm curious to hear how you can have a qualified opinion on that. All guidelines I read always require individual risk assessment by a health-care professional based on medical history.

You mean the "fuck that noise" part? That was meant for this edition of Deadline specifically. The situation is basically still changing on a daily basis, so there's a lot of debate still to be had, but V3nom made clear he (and the other orgas presumably) have made up their minds about it. And were I to choose between a Deadline 2021 only for the vaccinated, or no Deadline 2021 at all, for example because the "debate" that as so often got dragged into political wishy washy mud right from the get go has worn the organizers out), it would definitely be the former.
As far as Gabbie is concerned - there have been a lot on discussions, some here at this site, at the past, that prove well enough that the whole "refute in a factual manner" strategy is a misguided one.
Y'know on reflection, LJ we are actually agreeing with you. But my main point is that statistically it's safer to receive the vaccine than to avoid it.
