Accusations brought forward against bifat - post here
category: residue [glöplog]
Please post here if you feel treated badly, unfairly, in a discriminatory manner by me. Thanks!
I'll have you know that I appreciate the platform you're providing, but should I ever experience anything from you that would be fitting here, I will of course learn how to amiga code first and then make a demo about it. :) With effects that you might like. That will show you. :P
Thank you! Please let me assure you that I do not expect Amiga skills for anybody to qualify accusing me of wrongdoings.
Way to over-react...
By the way, I'm referring to your reaction and no-one elses.
Not sure if I exactly understand what constituted the overreaction. What can I do to rectify this?
bifat probably chose his name just to annoy me, when i hear it am always reminded of those shitty beef snack sausages
Nope, I'm not gonna play your little game.
Did I miss drama somewhere? Or is this just a yet another instance of a social conservative self persecution complex?
Havoc, I'm deeply sorry about that.
On second thought, maybe this is your opportunity to explain comments such as

Do you have a problem with people who are queer etc.?

The drama: There were questions raised that couldn't be answered in one line of text. It was alleged that I was feeling uncomfortable about someone else voicing opinions. And someone felt attacked.
Fizzer: No problems with queer people at all. I don't quite remember what I had in mind with "LGBTIQ nazi hipsters". Probably sarcastic, as people attacking the paraliament were painted carrying flags all sorts, making up a crude mix into which everything could be projected.

Just as a sidenote, that flag the people were waving was the "peace" flag, not the gay pride flag - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_flag - And yes, they're deliberately working with the confusion so people think those things have anything to do with each other, which they don't.
Ok, here comes the answer and FULL drama:
"how uncomfortable does it make you feel that I'm voicing my opinions, if you choose to attack me? What does your behaviour say about you?"
1. I'm not at all feeling offended from you raising opinions.
2. It was not my intent to attack you, but
3. it was my intent to poke fun at you.
What does my behavior say about me:
1. I'm sarcastic.
2. I'm an asshole.
3. I'm poking fun at people. It's a repeating pattern.
4. It's fun for me to trigger people who exhibit triggers.
5. It's not nice, it's not fair, it shows a lack of empathy.
6. It's a bad idea, because I'm easily feeling offended myself. I might have an inferiority complex that I try to shield with proactive offensive rhetoric, but that may be a topic for a different day.
Can I change this? Yes, working on it, but progress has been slow so far.
My apologies to you for bad form, not subject at hand. About the subject:
"Angry old (white?) (wo-)men barking up trees where noone sits, listens nor cares, and in the process becoming part of the problem."
The problem, in my opinion, being discrimination. Downthumbing is great, but it's a waste of energy downthumbing old artwork in this irrelevant bubble for the cause of reducing discrimination, it leads to entrenchment, polarization, us-vs-them-rhetoric. Just try to bring up the empathy to understand the author's original intent if you care for feelings and opinions. Take away the bad form that was supposed to annoy you, and this is my opinion.
I will watch your demoscene stuffs again so that I can show you the due respect (or not, depending on the outcome :) and validate you as a scene person.
I sincerely hope you feel better now. :-)

speaking of social conservative self persecution complex... there are fucking berries in a bifi? CANCELLED!
Quote:
berries
Looks like peppercorns to me and they're botanically speaking stone fruits, so no berries.
Also, I recently found the best feature of the so famous pouët oneliner: It can be completely hidden using the front page configuration tool. The oneliner is like some kind of delicious poison calling forth the worst in me but I have now hidden it and was thus blissfully unaware of this particular drama until it moved to the BBS :D
Meant the red ones. Now that i google: A pink peppercorn (French: baie rose, "pink berry") is a dried berry of the shrub Schinus molle, commonly known as the Peruvian peppertree. So that's that cleared up! Oh... and uhm now that we're going anal, chef, peppercorns are not stone fruits, they're unripe berries so the whole berry including the drupe, or whatever the botanically speaking word for that is.
i hereby uncancel the bifi! which is good, because i like them as a good protein bite at 16:00 at work!

But if pink peppercorns are berries then there ARE berries in Bifi! My world is collapsing! A drupe and a stone fruit are the same thing however, and AFAIK they're not berries. But I've long suspected this whole berry/nut/drupe/whatever distinction is quite fleeting in a lot of cases and that botanists mostly use the terms to fuel long-running arguments and flame wars on online forums so I'm just going to lean back with a smile and nod approvingly at your excellent choice of afternoon snack.
i already gave a prime example of crossing my heart in terms of cancellation rigor. if only people regardless bifi would follow act with their subjective interpretations of apparent social good vs bad misdemeanours then we'd be in a much happier place!
Can we talk about how bananas are fruit and not herbs? Because if they're herbs I'll have to cancel them because I don't smoke.
