@scamp: all this changes are related to chiptune.com in "unsecure" mode without any SSL cert?
I'm not sure, sorry if I sound dumb 🙈

No, not related. You never had an SSL certificate for your domain, chiptune.com was always http-only.
Probably your browser is now doing auto-upgrade http->https, which is why you are noticing your site under the name chiptune.com is unencrypted.
https://chiptune.untergrund.net works fine however.

@scamp: Is now a good time to get back to reclaiming my account registered with an email address I no longer own? :)
I posted the verification code I got from you by email in this thread around four years ago and never heard back:
https://www.pouet.net/topic.php?which=9917&page=3
As you can see I'm having very urgent need for the account and thus I'm asking again on such short notice :)

reed: Actually I sent back an answer - according to my logs with one year of delay :)
I've forwarded you that mail again now.

scamp: seems that ftp links without /user in the path stopped working (example: ftp://ftp.untergrund.net/breakpoint/2003/wild/rawstyle_01.avi), is that fixable for you or should we fix on the pouet end?
After just 12 hours in the data center all the migration is completed.
In case you have an external domain, please note that the IP for websites hosted at untergrund.net has now changed to 185.88.60.242. The mail server now is at 185.88.60.246. All DNS entries should be up-to-date.
Let me know in case there are any problems.

scamp: the issue i posted above still seems to persist
havoc: I'll fix it. The FTP links make sense as the new storage server has 20 GBit/s of connectivity for a nice speed boost for our users.
@scamp, thanks, all sorted now :)
As I didn't mention it: During last weekend, the storage server got replaced by a new one. We now have virtually unlimited space for the FTP part of the untergrund.net accounts (pubftp directory). Please note that webspace however still is on the main box, and still is quite full.
Also, from now on, ftp://ftp.untergrund.net/ is served from a dedicated box with 20GBit/s of connectivity. Should be pretty fast.

scamp, i try to login but it says "This FTP server is anonymous only."
havoc: Odd, it works from here.
havoc: from what I remember (haven't actively used my untergrund account for a long while), we're meant to log in to ftp1.untergrund.net for uploading, rather than ftp.untergrund.net - maybe that's being enforced more strictly now?
i can login on ftp1 yes... but then i can't switch to the pubftp dir with cli ftp :(
Last night I noticed that everything I had uploaded to my ftp account in the last 6 months was missing.
Six productions (two of mine, one of Fifth Generation, two of Unexpected Bytes and one of Pantuflas Software) could no longer be downloaded from their pouët or demozoo links.
I have uploaded them again so now is all fine.
But I wonder if anyone else has noticed something similar on their account.

ham: ftp://untergrund.net/users/havoc/POUET/pc/bktr001-00-va-iHyper.zip was gone from my account, haven't had the time to investigate further yet
also had a recent one disappear on me, reuploaded.
I can confirm that any files I uploaded in 2020 are gone. Last files in my FTP directory are from around September 2019.
same problem as havoc: "530 This FTP server is anonymous only."
For the anon FTP part: ftp.untergrund.net is anon only, and read-only.
To upload stuff, use FTP to youraccountname.untergrund.net (or just www.untergrund.net).

The problem with the missing files is scary. I am sure we rsynced all of the existing storage. This really sounds like instead a backup was rsynced, which should be impossible.
I do not recommend to re-upload missing files right now. I'll recover the old storage server on monday, see what the hell was going on, and re-sync so the missing files are back.

is that "new" or was it always that way? because it worked until the move :) but thanks!
If someone is able to give me file names of files missing that you have NOT yet re-uploaded, that would help.
sensenstrahl: it used to be like this for 10 years or so, where there still were FTP mirrors and stuff. It's even documented in the welcome mails.
However, for the last couple of years I didn't bother with it anymore - all downloads went through the main webserver that mounts the remote storage. But now with the 20 GBit/s uplinks it makes sense to link to the storage server directly.

then i'll better run and update my stuff, already at 130 dead links :D again, thanks for your work and providing untergrund!
