Revision 2020 cancelled - Revision Online announcement

category: parties [glöplog]
@Dan

That's what we do... still working on the demo... hard after all the RL issues going around at the moment and the downer of missing to see "our" demo on the big screen but well...

Can not wait to see your Amiga stuff soon :P
And i thought i would finally have an excuse to leave my coder-manHole for the first time this year! :(

For real: EVERYONE SUPPORT Revision Online WITH RELEASES! :P

If all of you just release as planned, we will have a giant blast of a Party, even if just sitting at home, remoting, and maybe only a few sceners around, if at all! ;)

Believe me: I skipped just one Revision in my Life, due to RealLife-Bullshit, and i unexpectedly really enjoyed it a lot on the Stream then! It was: A BLAST! ;)
(and i´ve been alone, sitting in front of my screen!!! Ok, had a little help of my friends, the umpalumpas, ehhrm, no!...the Beers!)
yeah and blasting that random beer bottle with scener hand thread :D
We only need a 1000 people voice-chat to get the right hall-feeeling.

Hello.
It looks like the Shader Showdown does not exist in the time schedule.
So, I would like to suggest a tool that can be used for online Shader Showdown.
https://glslfan.com/
We (Japanese demosceners) use glslfan as a Bonzomatic alternative in our party.
You can see realtime updated shader effects on the browser.

is there a conference call tool where you walk with your 3d avatar around a room and you hear whoever is closest to you the loudest?

if only someone could set up some dedicated server for the dead Google Lively project!
skrebbel: You could immerse yourself into a VR cinema with other online people and watch the streamed competitions together on a giant virtual bigscreen.

Skrebbel: Mozilla Hubs might be worth a look.

Isn't that what this Counter-Strike thing is all about?

I've never been on second life in this first life. Would something like that be possible? If for example there would be a 3d model of the inside of the hall, can this be loaded in SL? Would it be possible to stream twitch to a surface? Asking for a friend.
that was breakpoint online though :P
FWIW, according to Tagesschau article:

Quote:

Rough translation: Hotel stays for the sake of tourism are currently forbidden, so the hotel is not even allowed to offer you the stay, so you are entitled to cancel the contract and get a full refund.
So if you weren't able to cancel your hotel a week ago, maybe you can now try again.
also there could be a new demo category: LSL demos! [LSL being Second Life's scripting language]

I do understand you guys are probably busy as hell with the real life situation and trying to salvage financials etc from the party, but are there any news on the practicalities of the online edition, ie. tickets and stuff like that? Most importantly, I guess we can assume that the compo rules won't change? :)

Compo rules will only change in details to accommodate for the situation, and most of it concerns the oldschool categories in terms of getting a good recording. Nothing too weird. :)

As far as tickets are concerned: We're working on in it and we'll get back to you soonish.
