There is a problem with this prod: could you please update the screenshot with the latest version of the diagram - http://introspec.retroscene.org/compression/pouet_20190924.png

There is a problem with this prod: ...

I sent you a request to change the download link to this but then after I did that I found a link on scene.org so I sent you another request to change the download link. Can you please change the download link to the scene.org link instead of the other link?
There is a problem with this prod: The download link is reported as broken but it is not. It works just fine!

This prod is 64 kbytes and not 64 bytes.

Dear glöperators:

Notice that this prod is just a final version of the same prod. This count as a dupe or not? I think that a merge will not be inappropriate.

Thanks for your attention.

Bug report (?):

How come this prod has 82% popularity meter and at the same time doesn't show up here?

Was the algorithm altered recently?

Toplist ranking is a metric of popularity AND rating; this prod is popular but not well rated yet.

"Dear glöperators:

No - please reverse this merge - it is inappropriate and unfair for us and viewers.

Those are two separate releases, you like it or not - and we didn't release it on pouet btw. (none of them). We were waiting to release final but someone put it here ...but it was fair - two releases fro two different parties.
Until now...

Now only lead to our prod is by results from Deadline and it shows old, broken (it crashed during Datastorm compo being the wrong version anyway) instead of intro that was actually released.

At Deadline, we released proper version - organizers new about 'history' of the prod. We even ask them to release outside compo if they like. But as it is completely different version they decided to show it within the oldschool platform demo.

Differences are huge - more + 100% more content + 3 clipart’s, additional fullscreen animated logo, new effects (bump mapping) and tables, intro part, more texts and a lot of fixes. And new flow done from scratch. But while concept and msx were the same we decided to show under the same name (with 'final') - as the 'preview' version was a disaster both as production and during the compo.
Even size shows the difference - preview about 40KB, Deadline party version about 70KB. Final is a proper 64KB tested version.

Look at demozoo and compare both if you like:
final
preview

So please help us clean this mess. We lost comments and the opportunity to show our intro here the right way.

regards
j

Artline Designs C64 demo from Zoo 19 both links disk A and B point to same file (A):
https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=83232

http://csdb.dk/getinternalfile.php/189230/ALD_Out_of_Contex_SIDEA.d64
http://csdb.dk/getinternalfile.php/189230/ALD_Out_of_Contex_SIDEB.d64

Links look different, but actually filename can be anything, it is the ID before that points to the actual file.

jok: there's no such thing as "reversing" a deleted prod, gone is really gone i'm afraid. furthermore, it appears to me you are commenting an old instance of the original prod's page, please clear your browser's cache and notice how the page shows the "new" screenshot and llinkage for both versions of the prod. as for how demozoo shows the prod, if you analyze the edit history of the demozoo prod page you'll notice there were rankings for both Deadline and Datastorm on that same page at the time ham made the request and i subsequently performed the removal and copied over new data to the already existing entry for the preview version of the prod.

as for the rest of your arguments, correct me if i'm wrong but what you're saying boils down to "despite having the exact same name and a preview/party/final label at the end, these are actually completely different prods". now that i know about this i'm happy to accept that explanation but since this situation obviously already confused the fuck out of two well-meaning users of this site (myself and ham) i would like to humbly suggest that you employ a different naming scheme for different prods on the next occasion OR that you explain this very very clearly in the comment section of the prods as soon as they are added. so plz don't forget to do that if you decide to re-add the prod.

@havoc:
Thanks for your answer - Ok, so I will add final as Deadline release. But if it's not possible to remove that "mark" (linking release to both party) from Datastorm preview - please delete this entry from pouet too.
In that case I will add both versions separately for Datastorm and Deadline with information in comment as you asked.

Sorry if you (or ham) feel offended - that wasn't my intention. And as I said I had no chance to react earlier because we didn't submit any version of the prod here on Pouet.
(We were waiting to release final, 64kb, working and tested on different configs version with full explanation etc - in fact to avoid mess and confusion - it turned out otherwise in the end).

I hope too that you understand our disappointment when after 3 months of struggling with this damn cursed intro, final release disappeared (with comments) and all links were leading to old, broken version - as if we released the same crap on both party...

For future releases - I don't expect it will happened again ;)
thanks !

jok: if the main download link was wrong then it must've been wrong before i copied it over from the prod added by v3nom. i replaced it with a link to the file with "_fin" at the end now. btw, the datastorm version page on demozoo is still pointing to an archive in the deadline directory on scene.org, that should be fixed too i guess.

you can add the prod, file edit requests as appropriate for the other prod, and then i'll change the party info that's currently displayed for an appropriate relation link to the prod that you're adding.

Dear glöperators:

This is kinda funny, this group is a dupe of the same group spelled differently. I just was adding a prod and the autocomplete system suggested the "Fifth Generation" name when all their prods were already uploaded under "5th Generation" name.

Hope you can fix this mess. Thanks in advance!

ham: Any clues as to what the preferred spelling would be? :)
added on the 2019-10-15 12:15:26 by havoc havoc
havoc: I don't know. They used both spellings in the old days. Do we need to check logos and ASCII-art to take a decision?
added on the 2019-10-15 12:21:01 by ham ham
havoc: My personal preference would be "Fifth Generation". I think that looks better but it's just my opinion. Anyway, if you check the screenshot of their demo "Positive Logic" you will find a "F" and a "G" but not a "5". :]
