Deadline 2019 | October, 4th - 6th | Berlin, Germany

category: parties [glöplog]
BB Image

Your favorite Deadline returns this October for the 6th time already!
As in the last years the party will happen in the faboulous industrial Orwohaus location.

As usual we will have:
* space for up to 200 visitors
* high quality bigscreen and sound-system
* new and oldschool competitions (always from the real HW)
* great musical acts and DJs
* cozy bar and athmosphere
* big outdoor area with possibility to camp
* retro-gaming tournament
* seminars and workshops (TBA)
* separate sleeping area

As always we will do our best to improve on all aspects which were mentioned to us (esp. the video connection from the bigscreen for seminars and shader showdown and the 256byte compo), to provide you the best possible party experience! :)

So mark the date and plan your vacations. The website will be updated soon as well, but the infos there will be more or less still valid this year.

Some announcements:

Compos:
Due to popular demand, we will continue both compos which we introduced last year:
* The 256byte compo will be back (and we will take extra care that everything runs smoothly this time)
* The Three-Dee compo will be back as well. For this compo entries on all platforms (and also images/photos) are allowed, as long as they provide an anaglyphic 3d effect. In case you don't have standard red/cyan glasses yet and need some for for testing your entry beforehand, just give us a shout and we're happy to send you a pair.

Events:
* Currently slots for seminars & workshops are still free, so in case you're interested in giving one, please contact us.
* There might be open slots for live-acs & DJs free as well, just ping us.
* Shader-Showdown: We're currently scoping the interest for it to happen, so if you plan to come and you're up to the challenge, please let us know.

Orgas:
* We're still looking for people which are willing to help, be it tech (light/audio/video), events, compos or infodesk! Besides the warm fuzzy feeling of accomplishment, you will of course get free entry, an exclusive orga-shirt and eternal fame, so join us and be part of the fun! :)

Contact:
* Feel free to reach out to us using contact(at)demoparty.berlin for all inquiries regarding the party - anytime :)

Speaking of it - there was some confusion because we still had our 2018 website live and some people thought it's the new one already. Sorry for the confusion.

The new website is here: https://deadline.untergrund.net
(demoparty.berlin should soon also point there, as soon as the DNS Servers manage to update)

Register and/or buy your ticket now! :)

the font on the new website is a bit fucked up. i was shocked at the 85€ entrance fee, only to realized some 5 minuts later that the "8" is actually a "3" =)

Well, if you pay 85 you may get a cash present of 50 handed out!
[yes, I'm silly today]

Supporter tickets start at 70, so you can save by supporting! ;D
@saga yes that was my first thought as well, like "wtf is this calculation,..."

Just to clear it up publicly:
Somebody who is NOT connected to the Deadline Organising team got things wrong and posted publicly about DSH playing a set at Deadline 2019.
While we all remember the awesome set of last year, there were no plans to do it again this year and this wrong post caused a lot of confusion, especially for DSH who caught it out of the blue, but also for the Organising team.
We asked that person to correct this, and are deeply sorry for the mess. We also contacted DSH to clear this up and to see how we can help correcting this. We want to again make it clear that this was in no way connected to the Deadline Organising team. Don't believe fake news.

In non-fake news: We're happy to confirm the first seminar of Deadline 2019:
"Bintracker - A Chiptune Audio Workstation for the 21st Century" by Utz of Irrlicht Project

From the bintracker.org website:
Quote:
Bintracker supports any music engine on any plaform through the versatile MDAL abstraction layer, so you can compose for SID, AY, FM, Beeper… all with one tool. By using MAME as emulation backend, a vast array of 8- and 16-bit platforms are covered.

Stay tuned :)
