Do not see any big fun in making jokes about another country's (political) struggle and difficulties.
More compassion then mockery would be more welcomed (in a human being). Not only in tuff situations.
Even it if it only a webpage small "flag issue", sometimes some tiny attention, support (for sign of existance) is more than cheer.

I missed Europe for one edition of some party and had to choose my real living-point germany instead! ;) :(
