and after the recent release of Haujobb Amiga Framework, what's your excuse for not submitting an Amiga demo too? :)

Let's just hope they're Amiga demos and not Vampire demos. :)

Can we expect some hate towards including Amiga 600 Vampire in the compo machines? :)
It's a natural evolution and opens the doors for those who otherwise could not do Amiga demos before because of "cheap" accelerators or lack of time to study all the low-level stuff.
BTW, tried first to get the framework work without FPU, because my A1200 is like that. I think it's better to have Vamp one as none contribution. ;)
I hope Amiga pros will show us how it should be done properly - I'm really curious how this competition will end up!

My own five cents: I agree a Vampire is a cheap way of running 060 demos (if it happens to be compatible with those demos), but it's not necessarily a good tool for judging how (technically) impressive or well-made those demos were on an 060.
And if people end up making stuff that only works (or looks ok) on Vampire machines then I don't consider those prods "amiga demos". :)

It's your compo, so you're free to do whatever you want. That being said, at least I wouldn't want to participate in such a compo anymore, as I'd rather see accelerated Amigas dropped from Amiga-compos than have vendor lock-in in form of the Vampire introduced to them.

It's a week and to go, and I am already excited! You are gonna see my first self-coded demo at this party, as well as yet another 256b intro I coded!

Please, note that we have a limited number of Demobit entrance tickets. Don't hesitate to get them better now! \o/

@Korvkiosken I think nobody wants to make demos for a few people with Vamps. With so much juice around you don't want to make "slideshow fps" demos anyway. So around 25 fps seems like a good practice to keep 060 users happy too. Britelite kindly tested the prod on real 060 and was approved (thanks again!).
Wanted to clear up the situation with Vamp's sentiment and now I got it after the talk with Britelite.
Sad it's not frequently updated, but hey still. Without this gear, I won't be motivated to make something. We agree testing demos in emulator only is not a good idea. And glad to see the community is willing to help to test the prods on conventional accelerators to make it as accessible as possible.

@Britelite - good remark with vanilla A1200 demos. I would love to see contemporary A1200 demos which I can enjoy with my current setup. You can imagine, chasing a vintage accelerator for a reasonable price can be tough these days when retro fever is peaking :).

Argasek will bring his Blizzard 1260 A1200 as the main compo machine. And we accept A500 OCS demos too. So it's always up to viewers to recognize the machine differences and vote accordingly. Demosceners are critical thinking people so they can also price-in the usage of Vamp accelerator. We will communicate usage of hardware in prod slides.

Smash finally cannot attend Demobit this year :/ but
Notch PLE licenses are on the way and will be split fairly between participants of compos! :)

In case, you are taking a bus to Binarium tomorrow, our main bus station is under construction. On the opposite side is a temporary one, check how you will get to a public transport station 'Svatoplukova', and from there take a bus 212 (ŽST Železná studienka direction) or 202 to 'Cilizska' Kollárovo námestie, then switch a bus to 31 or 39 to "Televízia".
