Party in UK/Europe in 2019 for me!?
category: general [glöplog]
Ok, so I live in the States, but I really wanted to attend something great like Assembly, Datastorm, Evoke...but those parties are too soon for me so Imma miss them. :(
Are there any big ones coming next year that I should plan on? Something nice and epic? I just wanna go and gawk because my demoscene skills suck (just look at some of my submissions here). ok, thanks.

If you can attend only one(1) party then I'd recommend Revision. Parties that you mentioned are not bad either but main problem with them is that they are not Revision.
P.s. What's with the UK/Europe split?! It's not brexit yet. :D

Fear of a language barrier I guess? :)
But yeah, Revision is probably the best bang-for-buck choice.

hehe...no fear of language...mostly fear of plane ticket costs :)
Man, Revision sounds like a good thing!

Revision for the compos and "everyone is there"-mentality, Evoke for slightly more intimate atmosphere and nicer city from the tourist aspect. I'd pick from these two.

Is flying to the UK that much cheaper than flying to Germany?
Revision 2019 will be the best demoparty ever!
So be there or be sorry!

If you plan to be there for a couple of weeks during summer, you can possibly even experience several parties in a row, e.g. Assembly and Evoke are typically very close to each other in August.
Flying to UK will be cheaper starting next year because direct flights will be available from where i live.
That couple of weeks, party hopping idea sounds tempting :)

Another vote for revision.
Eurostar train is also quite affordable from London to Brussels/Paris, plus you can carry all the booze you want.
Aside from ES page itself, you can also get tickets from deutche bahn which allow connecting travels all the way to german destinations if you don't mind some extra hours. Casual check from London to Köln is about 60e, although with a quite shit transfer :) .. on the way back might be different. (Protip: Very good place for last minute purchases as the prices get low, I wanted to visit my friend in belgium and it was about 1/3 of the price to buy London -> Köln than it was to get London -> Bru from ES directly)
Another option is to take trains all the way to Luxembourg and take the bus from there, goes almost hourly, also bus is cheap, ~10-15e I recall. This takes you straight to saarbrucken station.
I've used various methods, good alternatives if you can't get a cheap plane ticket and/or want to visit some places before/after an event.
