Localization is tricky here, not just bit rate. speech synthesis is significantly easier for languages that have a lot of vocals, than for languages that have more consonants.
This is why the japanese vocaloid is better than any russian vocaloid could ever be.

I had that one back around when it was released. I always found it a good demonstration of the Amiga's abilities, together with Spaceballs' 9 fingers (not so much State of the Art).
As for the vocalist, he sounds OK to me, although I'm not sure what kind of genre this would be. Actually, back then I thought this came from a commercial work.

Yes, probably my all-time favourite Amiga demo, Manwe - that's why I mentioned it in the OP ;)
