asm orgas prolly had good reason for choosing july instead of august, doubt they'll change theirs.

hmm... because assembly is more computer/game party than demoparty, i do not believe that they will move date if a mid-size sceneparty is held same time... just a little factory for asm orgas i guess.

it could be cool to visit SE, but sure i prefer asm cos it's in finland and big etc.. :) my vote goes for moving SE's date.

for all the date suggestions, i'd like to remind you all that a weekend *before* SE+ASM there's the best dutch demoscene event ever seen, so that's no option!

For completion's sake: this is not a poll done by SE organizing any official sense. However, that won't stop me from recommending people planning to head over to SE to venture their opinion about the date.

And as far as I've heard, ASM had a pretty good reason, and they are not thrilled about the mishap either. Please don't blame them.

My take on it:

I really, really appreciate everyone being so kind and thowing a party on my birthday and inviting me. But. There's this rule (and ps said it didn't matter before but based on his starting this thread, I think he'll agree with me now.)

DO NOT HAVE 2 PARTIES ON THE SAME WEEKEND!

BAD ORGANIZER! NO COOKIE! NO DOUGHNUT! (cracking service) GIVE ME THAT BEER! BAD!

Anyway. I would really, really appreciate it if the Scene Event folks would take over the typical Assembly weekend and use it for their bitchin' party. That way I can sort of start in Finland and stumble about Europe with a party each weekend (assuming Buenzli and Evoke will have their 'normal' weekends.) I don't think I have to explain why I have to be at B00zembly/Assembly that weekend. If I do, um, well, it'll be clear in 2 months.

And the reason Asm moved? Well, they couldn't get the hall. Some lame track and field event took the hall on that weekend.

great, so ASM can make SE change it's dates but my wedding couldn't. I'm dissapointed! :~(

actually its SE vs ASM vs LCP vs remedy. although the last one hardly does count..

LCP typically caters to another audience, that never seriously conflicted with SE. This whole thing with ASM is a completely different story.

I havn't been at assembly yet, but since people have to arrange boozembly themselves, I would anytime prefer SE.

Of course SE is close to my home - but it also offers this perfect enjoyable atmosphere, which nice and happy sceners - but still some weird happenings.

jeenio, actually there were 3 parties in holland last year and it looks like there'll be at least 3 more this year. why some people choose to ignore these facts is beyond me...
