The Meteoriks Awards 2017
category: general [glöplog]
I'd replace Best Storytelling / Storyline / Plot with 64k
I mean, who gives a damn ? :D
As long it has cubes...

I get the strong feeling that considering 64ks are pitted up against demos, 4ks should be pitted up against 8ks. To me that would be okay'ish, sure 8ks have double the space but tbh I've yet to see an 8k that couldn't be bested by a 4k.
So yeah dont cut at >5, make it "Best 4k/8k Intro", or just call 64ks demos from now on :P
In general, I like the meta categories, I just wish they were more diverse.
Even more general speaking, I like the awards, I think they're encouraging to release at smaller parties and always trying to push harder as your release has the chance to be in the limelight one more time be it by nomination or by actually getting awarded. You're always competing against the best prods of the year, which is a great motivator.

Then again, why do we have Best Freestyle Graphics if we don't have Best Music? Is the ire of music compo entrants not as relevant?
We can't feel the rage through all the blow and blowjobs, no worries!

We have enough votes in the Public Choice category to come up with a result, but -- full disclosure -- it's not what we'd call "representative" yet, so we're extending that voting deadline until the end of the month! Don't leave us hanging here -- vote NOW!

"We have a public choice category, put the public voted wrong, so please other people vote too, but not wrong! thank you!'
lol
I think that was meant taking the total numbers into account, not the result of it ;p
Ah, yeah, you can read it like that, I read it as having enough votes for a result but the result not being "representative".
Whoops, yeah, I can see how one could read it that way. I was referring to the quantity of votes, not the results ;) I will happily award Saulin Penis if y'all tell me to - though I might be tempted to disclose the list of people who voted for it then ;P
Ah, fair enough! :)
meaning 90% of those who already voted have a @razor1911.com email account!
any idea when the nominations will be revealed?
tiny intro category didn't make it!?
256b is dead i guess

I like how the Meteoriks organizer(s?) just pop into this thread once in a while and just utterly ignore all the debate. Classy :)
As for peer recognition in the scene; the best "award" I ever got was being included in the DUB playing cards.
Did my part.
The "can't find demo from 2015" error message might need some fixing. :)

saulin penis 4 lyfe!
I like how some people just pop into this thread once in a while and mimimi just for the purpose of mimimi ... NOT!

Helps them maintain their sanity. Good thing before judgement is done :)

While I'm not sure whether you're being ironic there or not, I'd like to ensure all of you that we are very far from ignoring ;)
Thank you all for the well-meaning input -- we are listening and taking notes for next year, we just don't feel that defending ourselves or making a point will add any value to the discussion at this point.
Also what xTr1m said ;)
Also,
No, sorry mate. We're aiming for this week, but I can't offer any better than "when they're done" ;)
