It is prestigish in Poland, especially in the left-wing environment (yes it is involved politically, as most things in Poland these days, that's why you see people with black tape on their mouth in the above link).
I doubt that political issues have anything to do with prize for Bonzaj/PLC though. Congrats for the prize! It's always nice when demoscene gets any attention in media.

skrebbel: quite so. These are awards handed over since 1993, with several categories, varying from literature, through music, ending up in digital art; majority of the winners are the new, very promising but already high quality and well recognised (at least in Poland, but most of the times internationally) artists.

Amongst the winners so far were, for example, Andrzej Sapkowski (author of "The Witcher" novels series), Leszek Możdżer (internationally recognised jazz pianist) or Ivan Vyrypaev (playwright, screenwriter, film director, actor).

Congrats Bonzaj!

Thank you! ( to magic also ;) )

I was trying to tell about the demoscene, since it will be the best preserved digital art archive from last 30 years. It is for sure something that kids will learn at school in 100 years. What else would it be :)?

Hi Bonzaj.. Old friend.. Remember breakpoint 2006? :) Congratz.. Did you win this award alone or did Plastic win it ? Hope to see you back one day on the demo scene with Plastic.

Oh, @Sir: don't mess with the legendary 90's word 'Buzka' 8) .. Intel Outside 1994 was a legendary party.. And the pre-party at Dreamer's place to! Kurwa mac! ;)

Of course, congrats :)

As for magazine: comparing to Time or even Bild it is way smaller, but still a major political newspaper in Poland, mostly read by conservative center-wing that seems like a left-wing to the rest ;)

Nevertheless, maybe I'm wrong, but I guess (or I hope) Bonzaj doesn't get instant drool from this prestige. For what it is worth, it surely acknowledges that it's the first Plastic game that gets some bigger traction!

Now, let's wait for some more gaming-industry related awards! :))

Heh, I guess there won't be too many if any at all ;).

If you own PSVR I think it's worth to check since we did a couple of really old tricks that seem to work nicely in VR.

What? So, you are not better than SuperHot at the end? ;) I'm just kidding of course.

People don't understand true art, but "Polityka" does (<troll face> :DDDDD)

tomkh even wikipedia says that Polityka is left-wing liberal. It was started in 1957 by communistic Polish United Workers' Party.
Gotta admit they're relatively objective when it comes to prizes these days.

"Polityka is a centre-left weekly newsmagazine in Poland. "
Source: Wikipedia

Which part of centre don't you understand?;) Also communist times are long gone and to be fair post-communist were never an actual left-wing anyway. Nowadays it is a fair and square magazine IMHO that has "high culture" pretense - usually very conservative in the reviews. For example: it is bashing badly Hollywood blockbusters and usually praise more artistic critically-acclaimed productions. Moreover it promotes going to opera, theater and listenting to classical music. It is not necessary a bad thing, but explains why Superhot had little chance to Bound. Both games are very good IMHO and great debut on international market. So both deserve recognition for sure. Although I kind of suspect guys from Superhot give a bigger f*k ;)

rutra80: I guess polish one is more polarizing ;) I know many people with center/almost conservative views that reads it. Anyway, what does it matter? How about somewhere between center and the left? :D It's not Charlie Hebdo you know;P
