Hobbyist in 1992 Amigascene = hardware allowed, but de facto pc sound card which was acquirable for the hobbyists (see Mysdee case) at the same time is banned? Lol wtf please.
De facto in 1992? Really? Please list the 1992 releases with GUS support here.
I guess the 3rd option just allow us to release for Amiga AGA in vanilla A1200. Cause, you know "normal people" can't afford A4000s! :D
I'll search those, but how many demos were made for A4000 040@25 in mind?
I would personally also exclude AGA-amigas (at least non vanilla-A1200)
2. Ameegaaah!

A high end 486 was very expensive back then as well. Don't get too caught up in the "normal people" thing. Banks gave out loans in 1992 too, some people took them to fund their hobby.
I suggest by normal people rule they mean "No SGI, no mainframes" etc type of machines which cost more than a house.
My 1st pc 386dx-25/2/120 + monitor cost ~15.000FIM in 1990/91 winter and was funded via student loan.

.. and an A3000 cost around 13000-15000FIM at the same time new.

3. The year limit is somewhat stupid but the other limits are dumber.
Normal Amiga people, or normal PC people? Different budgets! ;)
I vote for number 2.
Should get the most entries.
RAM and hard drive space limits?

1) obviously :)
Seems to be the drama-free option.

2.
Those who vote for the third option, are you actually going to contribute, or do you just want the mythical "someone" to make the entries? ;)

There's already a lot of C64 and ZX demos, all real awesome(Z80 <3). I'd prefer ~midschool to get some gain. More AGA, 486/Pentium demos! Hell throw PS1 there too.
@Yzi: of course I'm going to contribute. ARE YOU?!
3 and putting the time limit to 1991 so every platform is at least 25 years old. Next year go for 1992 ;)
I'd say 2, just because I want to see what happens when the old school crowd takes a break from C64s for just five goddamn minutes. I love the C64 but so many people are writing samey stuff for it.
branch: including the PS1 in the midschool compo could actually be a nice addition
And about the GUS-debacle, on PC you get a 486 with VGA+SB, you already have more power than the other machines from that time. Can't you challenge yourself just a little bit and come up with a creative solution for the audio?
