IT2/ST3 samples to WAV with loops?
category: music [glöplog]
Anyone know of any tools for OSX that could batch convert IT2/ST3 samples, or samples from within about 50 .XMs, to WAVs with loops each? not stems, actual samples.
What are you trying to read them in? Was my understanding that loop support in wav was not really standardized and hack-y at best.
You might be better off using a dedicated sampler format. SOX can read XI but not IT/ST3 as far as I know.

That is incorrect, WAV files have a standardized way of storing an arbitrary number of loops. FLAC doesn't have this but e.g. both OpenMPT and Renoise support the WAV way of storing loops inside FLAC files.
You could use OpenMPT in Wine, load all samples into its sample editor and then shift-click the save button to export all of them to WAV or FLAC at the same time.
It seems that Renoise can load .IT and .XM and there's a third-party tool called ExportAllSamples that will do some sort of regular exporting.
I think AWave Studio can do it, haven't used this for a few years but back in the day I used to extract various sample formats with it. They have an experimental Mac version as well but I've only used the Windows one.
