Is there a way to "favourite" prods?

category: general [glöplog]
I think I've asked this before, but I think a handy feature of Pouet would be a feature to tag all those prods and groups that you like as favourites, so they could be tied into each Scene.org account for quick access and so you wouldn't have to keep hefty bookmarks for each and every single prod and group.

Is this planned or possible already?

That's not exactly the thing he's asking about, though. And yeah, it was planned for Pouet 2.0, but yadda yadda yadda

aka "patches welcome!"
or you use the watchlist for that
I was told about the watchlist before, but as each item on it is viewed it disappears.

Well, how do you all remember your favourite prods?

The logarithmic scale of CDCs is quite disappointing =P

BTW: http://www.pouet.net/lists.php?which=41 ?

You could create a folder and bookmark the prods in Chrome, or create a YouTube playlist with your favourites.

What I had until this week was a list of individual URL files with Pouet links that I made for all my favourite prods, but I realised that naming them was awkward, and what was more, I was unaware of anything else the group did, just focused on the ones I liked.

What I've now done is to go through all the groups I've got my favourite prods from, and for each one created a URL with a link to their Pouet page, sorted by Thumbs Up, so I can have their best or most popular works to hand. It works, mostly, but my attempt to sort the groups by platform was a failure as the vast majority are multi-platform, so I'm having to go by memory for them.

Well, it was supposed to be like lists.php, except everyone would be able to create their own personal "playlists".

Oh, well, expanding on lists is still a todo yes.

or keep a list in a .txt, .xls or whatever on your desktop ;)
Hmm Demozoo seems to have the same features as Pouet now. Latest releases, comments, even bbs (or so called "discussions"). Although, I guess people are used to this cool trumpets and blue background.

I've been meaning to ask: can a group or prod name be changed after it's been submitted?

I only ask because I see many groups on their prods page have their names shortened to usually three letters, like Rebels (RBS), Ghostown (GTN) and Andromeda Software Development (ASD), yet groups like Anarchy have their full name always. What's more, many groups have full names on Pouet yet they too have shortened names, featured in their prods, which aren't acknowledged by Pouet. Why is that?

I have the URL files linking to each group page, and I'm thinking I could easily add a simple text file indicating their prods I like, but I only hope the entries don't change names at all, but I was curious about the above.

BTW, I changed my avatar with one I uploaded just now from my website, but named it after my username - is that valid or should I change the name? I assume others have done the same?

The name of the avatar should include your full nick name, your date of birth and your mother's maiden name.

Actually taking a look at how all other icons are named would've pretty much answered your question, as in, they're all pretty much random

Bringing this topic up again. There really should be such feature one can select a bunch, say ten pieces, of demos, and that information could be used to update all-time-favorite list too more easily I'm sure.

Not to forget it could be interesting to see other sceners you value top lists too.

Great idea!
