Forgive me for being what might seem to be psycho for a moment, but would it be a good idea to add education (edu) to the lefthand of the board list?
I just thought throughout the board there are occasional links to educational topics and it might be good to give them a branch?

most threads are educational to some extent, unless they're just for pure entertainment/waste of time (but then they usually go into "residue")

no I disagree, there is a certain type of post that is unique and specific to an edu category... what about a child that comes with very basic knowledge but very playful and creative, would it not be useful to have an edu just for people who want to learn and to encourage learning threads and resources to grow?

without that there may be random threads about specific os/languages etc and specific subjects that are just alien to most people? so everyone is just looking for the 1/20 that applies to them.

It might also be good to have edu as a sub category in prods so that tools for learning can be singled out, for the same reasons

I do apologise though in the respect that it is supposed to be an old school board

for example if some kid gets an old amiga and wants to learn they can just select 'edu' and search amiga... voila there is a very powerfull learning resource!!!

starlight: this isn't really a thread for those kind of requests, and anyway, if anyone wants to learn about demos, google will prolly help them. I don't think pouet bbs is good for children anyway. :)

Tomoya: Bad wording, was tired. I only meant that I've control over the file if something breaks terribly and all files come from the same host. Nothing wrong with scene.org, obviously :)

havoc: Sure, I understand, that's why I fixed all the prods, and I'm in the process of fixing the links. If I can upload Collapse's stuff somewhere in scene.org, then it would be perfect. If not, linking to untergrunds ftp it is, as it's the reliable host which hosts Collapse's stuff :)

Does this mean you're in some way talking with scene.org to upload those there? I'm asking because I wanted to keep updating links on all my prods, and if they're going to be uploaded to scene.org, then I'll wait :)

shash: unless the process changed in the past few years, to upload to scene.org just login anonymously to ftp.scene.org go to /incoming/demos/groups create your collapse folder and upload the zips there. they'll get moved from incoming to the final directory after a few days.
