How about the legal aspects of this?
Inside the European Union, sending unsolicited email is considered an offence as far as I know, and so is asking somebody to commit an offence.

I know pouet.net is a place for fun and games. And I really do think that article by Official Wire is quite hillarious even.
But deeper down lies an extremely serious issue. This organization made a fatal mistake of exposing themselves on Wikipedia. I wasn't the first person to notice their questionable legitimacy, but I was probably the most vocal about it (as usual).
Relevant to the discussions we've been having about how Red Cross' administrative fees are too high, etc. Well, this is much worse. QuakeAID is operated by a persona named Greg Lloyd Smith. He lives in Greece. He manages all of his companies remotely with a fake presence in New York via a management company called OFFSHORESIMPLE.COM. He's been doing it for years, but now he's been exposed.
As soon as this earthquake happened, he began to spam his fake company QuakeAID into every earthquake and disaster related article he could. Then they followed up by creating a number of fake PR articles on a newswire which they own called Official Wire. They just log roll one site into another into another. The only thing I can credit Greg Lloyd Smith and his wife with is weaving quite an intricate web of mis-information.
There is no doubt that a frivolous lawsuit will be entered against me by this person. I figure it is inevitable at this stage. I take this seriously because its morally reprehensible to steal food from the mouths of starving children. Point blank.

The misstake you did was to use USA's laws as an example why it isnt a serious company, nobody outside your country trusts USA in any matter. Go deeper and prove them unserious in other countries measurements (take some big European countries) and this article wouldnt be possible.
However, i would just remove all "volunteer" organizations.. Write something like: "Here's some multination companies who claims to be supporting victims of the tsunami, they don't really produce any mone so they want you as a civilperson give them money. Read more from them or on <google link>."
