Stravaganza's sourcecode released
category: general [glöplog]
Sorry for the doublepost if anybody saw the news at ojuice :)
I've decided to release Stravaganza's sources. The system includes:
-Libraries (BaseLib, Engine, DemoSystem, Plugins)
-Tools (Demo Player, 3DStudioMAX Tools)
-Demos (Euskal 11 Inv, Cafre, Decadentia, r08080, Arise).
Stravaganza's old demos and some tools are not included. Read the txt for more details.
The sources are provided with or without demo binaries:
Sources with binaries http://ithaqua.stravaganza.org/misc/sgz_srcbin_20050106.zip (33.4MB)
Sources without binaries http://ithaqua.stravaganza.org/misc/sgz_src_20050106.zip (3.1MB)
Hope somebody finds them useful.

_MAD_ props, this must be one of the nicest structured codes i've seen :)
bit sad tho... i sortof feel some magic of "the unreachable" lost... :/

Ithaqua, I can't believe it because it must be state of the art code !!! I'll give a look at it ...
wow! that's great ithaqua!
I don't know shit about coding, but still I think you guys rule :)
Waiting for our next Tapas dinner...

+1 for Stavaganza ... yes, you loose a bit the magic of 'behind the scene', but it's a real help for newbie coders, and a great source for improvemetns ...
But i dig, if ithaqua Stravaganza release these sources, it's because they have something hot and new in the oven, for sure :)

Really nice. Very good structure & coding style. The code about FX params evaluation is a must-see ;) Respect for release while you're still using that in yours new prods.
Good Work! o/

Just had a quick look at the sources, it looks really neat, well structured and even documented.
"Hope somebody finds them useful"
No doubt a lot of people will, Ithaqua.

really goodlooking and easily understandable code. big props.
Respect.
Watch it though, so Claus-Dieter EinVolko won't start his nazi flaming about you not writing a tutorial for hugi instead.

good lookin'!
Whoa, that's some really well written code! Heck, even at "real software companies" that I've worked at with buzzword'y processes and whatnot the code is usually orders of magnitude worse...
Thumbs up for Ithaqua!

structured? neat?? documented???
are we dealing with a proof that some commercial entity is trying to take over the demoscene?

ithaqua is trying to take over the demoscene :P
Ithaqua is probably trying to do what Mr KB already did with V2:
"he puts himself above the scene and degrades demo sceners to consumers"
You're not fooling anybody here, Mr Ithaqua!
;)
