I'm suppose to use my debit card as identification, unfortunately when my dad bought me the tickets as a birthday gift he didn't have my credit card number.

So the last 4 digits is wrong but the name is right.
I'm gonna carry with my my passport as well, but if I get on the train to Germany will the excuse; "Oh I lost my card and got a new one" will that hold?

or just tell the true story and identify yourself with your passport?

Deus: Usually it's fine to identify yourself by any (reliable) means, unless you happen to meet a real dick as conductor. So true story and passport should be fine. :-)
