nosfe/visy: the Flo demo I decided not to include in the compo because of its aural harshness - I myself didn't have an issue with it but most (80%) of the crowd were people watching their first demo compo and I think they would've tuned out and left about 30 seconds into it. The decision was mine alone so I'm willing to take any flak for it.

Now I'm getting curious..

Just bring it to Revision then, it can't be as noisy as Varifrom 2... can it?

Tech-wise, we'll probably rework it into something later. Perhaps Revision, perhaps not.

not too keen about this demo censorship stuff, but let's give some credit to Gargaj until we see the demo. also, what h0ffman said (bring it to Revision).

I understand gargaj's position. Especially considering NVscene is not really a demoparty. More of a conference.

(that doesn't mean I agree with it, but I think calling this censorship might be pushing it too, wouldn't this just count as a "disqualified" entry?)

Also what Ⓟrincɘss Ⓚnoɘki☆ said. I trust Gargaj to make the right choice, with not just one entry but the whole scene in mind. NVscene is some kind of outreach, so it is best to shock newcomers in small doses. Compare it to vodka. You don't drink the entire bottle in one go now do you?

NVScene is definitely a demoparty, but I would argue it's also the first kind of demoscene conference. The format is new, slightly weird, but totally cool :)

Preselection isn't censorship. If it is, then music compos are a vast freedom of speech crisis.

That said, I hope to see the demo at Revision. I do like me some aural harshness.

any idea when offline viewing of seminars/comps will be available for those that haven't been able to watch live?

Canopy: the first day of sessions is already edited and ready, but only on the GTC site after login ATM. We'll get all of the files within the next few days, and we'll put them on Scene.org and YouTube.

about selection : i was so desopointed not to be selected by my gfx but after all theses are rules, you (gargag) surrely had the good choice. no problem it is selection and i hope to be selected next time in another parttttttttttty :) regards to all
