Two people pasted links on #c-64 to the same photo of a hotel destroyed by the tsunami, on the very detailed photo you could see lots of junk floating in the water, but if you looked more closely you would see that it wasnt just pieces of the building, the water was filled with dead bodies. i thought it was quite sick that someone would take this photo and that other would spread the url. Some day later i opened swedens biggest morning paper and saw that they published that same photo over almost an entire page.
Meanwhile one of swedens evening papers, which by tradition is more sensational than the morning papers since they dont rely on subscriptions, have tasty headlines on their website(direct translation) "there are lots of amateur movies coming in showing how the disaster strikes and how terribly powerless people are. Expressen has gathered a selection of all the clips", "PHOTO SPECIAL: Disaster - crushing everything and everyone"
The magazines are filled almost entirely of material about the death and sorrow caused by the tsunami, for all vultures to feast on. And all this mixed up with ads telling us where we can donate the money.

I'm not very surprised that lator, despite that he knows several people who were visiting thailand at that moment, chooses to just say FUCK YOU to it all.

Even if Stefan may have been expressing honest frustration, his history on Pouet gives me good reason to seriously doubt it until I hear a retort from the man himself.

I'm quite certain no one here, regardless of whether they have supported Red Cross or not, is particularly pleased with the predatory ways of certain less honourable representatives of the media. I'd be happy if they received no advertising revenues (and even happier if people stopped buying their magazines altogether); it's a shame that even Red Cross has to to play with the big boys to get anyone to even raise an eyebrow.

what i kind of agree with stefan that newspaper do love this kind of events. they sell more, but still this accident is most horrible thing happened over 50 years :(

first post came after i had browsed some swedish newspapers, i felt sick and disgusted, therefor i also took some precisious time and made screenshoots of it so you could see what i meant. as a finn you should know swedish well enough to understand whats writtern there in. to nuke i explained it all in english, made him mad as hell and wanted to kill me because he probably realized he had threatened someone without any real cause.
