This seems to imply, for example, you'd get fat by eating fat
That's why I re-phrased it to: "What you eat will be turned into your flesh and blood." ;)
Fatty acids, when they're the proper ones, will be broken down into its components and used according to their beneficial factors.
Useless or destroyed fatty acids (i.e. trans-fats or overheated unsaturated fats) can't be used properly and therefore clog up the system. Never ever cook or fry with olive oil or mentioned unsaturated fats. They fall apart beyond 45°C, add them after the heating.
You can very well eat carbohydrates but you'll have to make sure you eat the appropriate amount of fibres along with it -- they go together, that's how Nature provides them: in order to get the sugar (carbohydrates) you'll have to chew and digest through a lot of fibres :)
Just remember where a wheat crop comes from and what it is coated in ... lots of organic fires. Using whole-grain flour gets you at least a portion of this natural fibres of grain-crops in the diet.
Haven't catched even a common cold since ... uhm I guess 2012 ... after TRSAC (thanks d!rt!e ;P ).
For me, nothing beats a real bonified chicken stew with all fresh ingredients ... including the chicken (days fresh from the local farmer's market), no Maggi shit necessary, just patience.
Expensive, yes, but almost 3 days worth of immune-boosting power-stew.
Do you guys fight every new thing out there with such vehemence? :)
As a famous person once said: "Let them eat cake FFS."

Well, if that 'new thing' is idiot nerd astronaut "food" we get to make fun of it!
i poop gray matter!
So everybody here seems to be experts on nutrition.
Gluten are bad for you? Loads of cholesterol is good for you? You do realize there is no scientific consensus to any of these claims?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturated_fat_and_cardiovascular_disease_controversy.
I am currently living in the USA and here everybody seems to be gluten intolerant. The truth is that they are just sheeple following a hype. When you organize a party you now have to be sure to have gluten free beers (yeah, not joking.)
http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/most-people-shouldnt-eat-gluten-free/
Just eat a variety of food. Cook your own stuff with some fresh veggies, lentils, etc. Snack on some nuts. If you want to eat chips or a pizza now and then it's fine too. As long as everything is in moderation.
To me the soylent stuff seems horribly boring. Whats wrong with preparing something fresh every day for 30 to 60 or so minutes? Doesn't need to take much longer. In the end it will benefit not only (most likely) your digestive system but also it will make you feel healthy and you can be proud about your creations :)

One of my coworkers has a severe gluten allergy and he is pretty happy with all the dumb Americans following the hype giving him more options to eat :)
Sure, of course.
Gluten is great - you can make funny edible stuff like fake meat out of it ;)
On the other hand cooking/baking/eating out with someone who has to avoid gluten is quite tough.
All that astronaut food is bogus, though, a proper solution exists for ages:
Sieben Bier sind auch ein Schnitzel (und dann hat man noch nichtmalwas getrunken, aber schonmal eine prima Grundlage dafür)

I'm with you Cross. Last time I ate baby food was when we tried it with my daughter - we both hated it (she used to eat mashed everything - cooked veg, spag bog you name it - if it fitted in the blender and was good for her it got whizzed, frozen into icecube trays and reheated).
All this ironically named stuff just seems like adult baby food to me.
Just fucking cook ffs! If social misfits like Gordon Ramsay and Anthony Bourdain can do it then you guys sure as fuck can!

You're telling me you're too lazy/incompetant to even cook a Jamie Oliver meal?
I'd rather have people cook for me
breakfast/lunch

LUNCH !
Good soup is very easy and inexpensive to do, do enough of it and eat days with one cooking.
I dunno how some ppl "don't have time" to cook when some of us have time to go to work, take care of kids, cook for whole family, exercise and still have time to lie on front of PC for a while every day. Of course, no time for naps but there's also never problems of getting sleep.

"No time for cooking" is just a lazy excuse of course. The time needed for the most simple (yet fucking awesomly yummy) meals doesn't exceed 15 Minutes. Even stuff, that takes longer (like a nice Gulasch >:)) doesn't mean you have 2 hours of nonstop work. It's more like prepping 15 mins, then wait 2 hours. It's of course a tad messy, though and you might have to clean some pots and plates. Other than that:
LAZY EXCUSE I SAY!!1
Also, speaking of eating nicely and healthy, there are also other options which involve almost no cooking at all, like making a very nice Sandwhich, eating some funky toast, etc. Jesus, I love me some awesome, fresh german dark bread, with salami, cheese and cucumber. Holy shit.

i dont cook very often myself, but its more about the cleaning of the dishes than the actual preparation of the food (and frozen pizza doesnt count) :p
so a lot of my money goes into restaurants, take away and delivery services as well... fuck me im lazy :p
having that said, cooking for more people than yourself is awesome. gather some friends once a week, let everyone bring (or pay) for some ingredients and have a nice munchie. its fun!

Oh yes, that's true... cooking for yourself only is a tad lame. :/

We have a magic cupboard that you put dirty dishes in, then clean ones come out..
I sympathize, I've never lived anywhere without a dishwasher. When i bought a place with my g/f my parents also caught the bug, and moved house too. I was given their (white) dishwasher because they wanted one a silver one for their new house to match everything else.
I also hate washing clothes, you can buy lots more clothes so the gaps between doing the washing are longer :) maybe the same principle can be applied to some dishes/utensils.
Ei perkele sentään.
How did people manage earlier? :)

lol, as rob said, cooking takes literally 30 to 60 minutes of your time and eating fresh made food is delicious but if you want to eat white goop or pizza or whatever that's fine. nobody cares about what kind of garbage you put in your mouth.
or you buy a blender
