Revision 2015 - 3rd to 6th April - Saarbrücken, Germany
category: parties [glöplog]
Posting compo info together with registration page would be good as I hear it's sometimes a deciding factor for, well, people who make prods. Well, since I'm coming there will obviously be a compo for my prod, I meant the other guys in remaining compos who are too timid to point this out. :D
What's so hard to understand about "Full website will be up in January"? :)
A good solution would be to finish the prod and enter in in the appropriate compo.
I assume browser demos are still accepted to all compos? Right?
This years website is a good starting point for more information before the full website is up:

Idea for next year. If there are too many (good) entries in a compo, the compo could be split into multiple blocks of 45 minutes or so with 15 minute breaks between. Last year PC Demo was pretty long. People got tired and missed couple of good entries because of that.
and avoid joke-prod like RBBS one to make people have a beer during the compo, because of this prod almost 75% of the audience was still boozing outside when the compo started again and almost everybody (me included) didn't watched my (very)short demo :'(
The RBBS demo was actually a pretty good idea as far as a beer break goes - it even had a timer to show you how much time you have.
Honestly, I support either idea.

rez: the same thing will happen with official breaks tbh
@gargaj: yeah it was a funny and good idea, but I was le sad that after so much work a so few people watched my small demo on the big screen :(
Blame the people then.
Official break should be enough time for people to have a cig, some chat and stuff. And when the break is over there should be a loud intro notifying the next block is about to begin, so people know when to come back and have enough time to do so.
Other option is small screen and speakers outside, was really appreciated during music compo last year. :)

Another problem is that Revision is already jampacked with compos that putting breaks in between will only make them last longer and the demo compos won't be finished before 4:00 AM :)
how about this idea for the next year: don't change anything, everything was perfect.
Maybe a reduced amount of iso entries per compo would also reduce the length of the compo.

Just drop some of the live music. There was too much of that anyway.

Maybe we could drop the whole party? There was too much of it anyway.
Hi there, could someone who has been to revision before give me some info on how to participate? I'm a 22 year old gfx coder from munich, working on a game/physics engine atm, I thought it would be cool to meet some professionals at revision even if our prod cant compete with any of the other submissions. Contact me on skype: razor.singularity
SiNGUL4RiTY: hi, you basically come to Saarbrucken when the party is happening (3rd-6th April 2015), buy your ticket at the entrance and enjoy. You may even bring you mattress and sleep there at the party place and enjoy full 24hx3 experience. At this moment, other details, as mentioned above, you may find on the previous year web page: http://2014.revision-party.net/.
ps. but I don't know what compo you could submit your prod to, there is no "engine" compo, you would need to apply it to some effects/game first.
Yeah, just show up and hang out! Shit's chill yo! And join #revision on ircnet to chat with some dudes and dudettes before hand so you won't feel too lost!
During the party you get access to the internal website through which you can submit your entry before deadline. Basically zip up the release, add screenshot, description and credits and upload it through the form. You will get the exact instructions how to access the intranet in a booklet after paying the ticket. Everyone at the party can submit their prods.
After uploading the entry have some beers and scream: "AMIIIIGAAAA!!!" across the hall. Simple as that.

people already released demo using Unity 3D engine, so I think he can release his "demo" at demo compo, isn't it?
Or game development, if it's a game.
Thanks for all the advise, we (team of two) don't know what we actually can/want to submit, atm its just a rigidbody simulation. I dont think we have enough time to make a game out of it.... there is no gameplay, and just a simple renderer. Check out my blog: https://singul4rity.com
