can't get my tr707 to source midi notes

Hey, This is a far cry but do you know how to set-up the tr707 to be a midi source of notes. Right now mine just sends out a midi-sync, the drum triggers produce nothing on midi :( I've tried "track-mode" shift "midichannel" "last meas" and I get nothing. I'm monitoring raw midi so I'll see anything that comes out. Right now it's just a bunch of 0xf8 .

Well I figured it out. It only works in track-play mode :(
