is there gonna be stream? my wild demo for revision was not finished so i could make it if there's gonna be compos that are streamed

ok, so the fact that bittin imagines his own demoparties is depressing enough.
but supporting him to tarnish the work of dozens of serious parties by adding that shit to scene.org, wow, just... wow.
don't you see you're feeding the troll? and thereby alienating the serious folk?
i really don't see why i should bother uploading releases to a server that puts it right next to such shit

My suggestion is simple: Delete TibbleLan 2014 entirely from scene.org. It wasn't a demoparty, the release holds no value. Why not?

I'm serious about this issue btw but I just think the fact that there's gotta be some people whose only impression of the demoscene is... "this", is a much more serious one. Deleting a few insignificant files from the FTP isn't gonna change anything imho.

but! revision2014 never happened either! the MACHINES that organize SMDSC harvested all remaining demosceners and keep us in a cryosleep in which the machines give us dreams in which we go to demoscene-styled demoparties! in truth, the energy of our bodies is used to generate electricity to run the toilets!

We didn't win, but at least we are not losing by associating with trolling anymore. I see scene.org as a library. To get your work into a library's archive, it has to have some form of archival value, either by itself or by association. Bittin is essentially fingerwriting two words with his own shit on a napkin, then barging into the local library and demanding a spot on the shelves for his "work". That's just not how it is supposed to work, there's nothing to gain from going along with warped thinking, only to lose.

I am not sure I get this logic. I mean, maybe there are crap stuff also released, but how does it reduce the other releases? And in every creative community, there are bad and good stuff, should we discriminate against the bad stuff so that outsiders will only see the best of the best? And if I was a newcomer discovering the demoscene, I wouldn't just get random stuff (and it would be improbable to reach TibbleLan releases and nothing else), I would search and ask for the best and most popular demos of the scene. I don't mind if there are some jokeprod fillers in the scene, they are the exception, people are not gonna look for these first.

But if you deleted because the demoparty was kinda fake, I am fine.

Besides the trolling, some serious advice:
Bittin, your LAN parties always had only a few people attending. What about organizing them once or twice a year instead of nearly once a month and put the focus more to the interests of the local people who can actually attend?

optimus: "totally fake and admittedly so" is a better description of tibblelan 2014 as a demoparty. had some other party accepted the entry in their compos, then at least it could be argued it holds value by association. in this case, there is nothing to associate with, unless someone wants to argue that bittin can be a demoparty by himself.

Havoc: Scene.org is an archive, not a library. While the librarian adjusts the content and the new acquisitions to the library's audience and their borrowing habits (and last not least to its budget), the archivist is dedicated to accumulate all available materials within the archive's thematic dedication. So, quality is definitely not an indicator for scene.org materials, at least when it comes to party archiving (because otherwise 80% of all party releases could be thrown away tbh).

However, if the party is completely made up, then it's a different matter.
