category: general [glöplog]
From the tUM website:

Quote:
Yet again we're presenting you a very nice surprice for this year's the Ultimate Meeting. On all the three days of the party, Dreamcast-Scene has it's own booth at the party place and sells low priced Dreamcast systems inclusive all cords and at least one controller for only 50 Euros.

To all those packages a CD with the KallistiOS developmet kit and many example applications and source codes is included. The first people who are buying a Dreamcast set also get a few of our new games and accessories (like a second controller, VMUs, coders cables, keyboards, etc.) for free!

This is a nonrecurring event due we sell it even under the purchasing price. Our aim is to give interested sceners the possibility to get their hands of one of the most exciting systems of our days and support the demoscene activity on the Dreamcast. If you want to get sure to get a system on tUM*o4, we can reserve you one if you pay us in advance by PayPal or international bank transfer.

can you confirm that a dreamcast can be plugged into an old amiga monitor? (i dont have no tv) then i'd really think about getting one of those, always loved to play dc games at friends' places.

dipswitch: Yes of course you can use your Amiga monitor for the DC as well. :)

Actually, I use the C64 monitor for DC shoot em ups only , seems like it was made for it! I think the same counts for the Amiga.

You can even use your PC monitor if needed

50 euros for a Dreamcast is a good bargain, do not hesitate Dipswitch :)

I can't live without my Dreamcasts. :-)

The games alone can keep me occupied until 2050.

And I know for a fact that a certain US chain had them for 50 bucks including keyboard. Unfortuantely I was too slow back then..

I think they were never that cheap in europe though. Looking at ebay 50EUR still seems to be a good price.

Hmm... when I follow all those links, I come to this...

"This item is currently out of stock."

...and this used (and remind the shipping costs of US$7 to 10):

I own three (yes, three) Dreamcasts. One is a backup. I used to buy and sell them on eBay (buy broken ones, refurb ish them, and then re-sell). You can easily obtain them though at gaming stores here, such as "Gamestop", for around the same price (USD$50) as a kit.

I think when I stopped collecting Dreamcast ISOs I had around 400 titles. :) I remember watching Delicious but have yet to check out Variance or Reverie. Sounds like I should take one out and dust it off. Tetris 4D, IMHO, is the best multi-player Tetris game ever published. It's a real shame it was only intended to be released for the Japanese market. heh.

good to hear someone try to do new demos on this WindowsCE console

50 euros is not a low price, it is the real actual price for a working PAL DC with paddles, games and more. warning, never buy the hellokity version or the lastest usa version because those hardware are not able to read your pd game or lastest demo on cdr.

for DC owners, have you tested the lasted PD game called BeatsOfRage ? it is not so bad :)

by the way, ebay sucks, never buy here, its just a place where suckers try to make money, prefer the cool forums of real video games collectors.
zone: looks nice.. ripped gfx though

ah the dreamcast.. nothing beats playing 'House of the Dead 2' with 2 guns blasting at your screen like John fuckin Woo!

Right. Um. Should I bring my Dreamcast Devkit machine? Would that be something that various DC folkages would like to see/poke at/explore/NOT BREAK? (:

also, someone DID recently start a port of UAE to dreamcast... which should be interesting (:

And Okkie, no, something does. TYPING OF THE DEAD. My God, typing of the dead is just the most ... fscked up game ever. And it is so freaking fun. My god that game is just insane and needs hacked and redone.
so, how early would one have to paypal this package to get some transfer cable thingie and possibly an extra controller?

and yeah, I know I'm all famous and popular and shit, but dont get embarrasingly loud&wet now, just because I'm considering to get a new toy and maybe code a bit on it.. ;)
Hahaha :D

heh, the Dreamcast Devkit? the same pc-like thing we use here as a doorstop? i can take that (if i replace it with a brick, cause we need a doorstop) and you may bid on it :)
