Again I'd give them fair warning that there are people other than myself who have posted a small amount of nsfw material here as pics rather than links and that some of those pics are offtopic gore pics. That's only fair as far as I'm concerned.

Playboy/Penthouse etc. (softcore posed and airbrushed models) - probably. What's mostly posted here, paid & amateur models, professional cosplayers, candid shots of celebs (all of which are very much in the public domain) - I doubt it.

This thread was originally started as a backlash against all the 'plastic' (posed with silicone tits and looking like young teens) pr0n that I came across on the original RIT. I wanted to do a thread showing real women (not so much gamine, surgeryified, shaven, fake-tanned models). I do vaguely remember saying that if the subject looked teenaged I wasn't interested and that any nsfw pics should be tagged as such and presented as a link. A few other posters have joined me over the years (I'm sure I'm biggest contributor) and for the most part we've happily and comfortably gone about our business.

You suggesting that I'm objectifying women in this thread or that as kebee suggested I have 'questionable ethics' or even Preachers suggestion that this thread somehow enforces sexual and gender stereotyping shows the same kind of naivete that is seen when radical female feminists accuse all men of being rapists "because it's in their nature".

I'm not sure whether some of the arguments here were just for arguments sake or if there are a few people here who live very monastic lifestyles but for me as a hetrosexual red blooded Aussie bloke - I find images of women to be fairly pleasing. I guess I'm a visual person, not a prude and I believe the "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

I prefer the term "person with responsibility for the community" or "admin" but okay. And to answer your question, yes I did show the thread to several women whose judgment I trust - one of them even posted her reaction above. Maybe go back and read first.

The issue isn't what whoever finds pleasing, but how it manifests. At this point the thread is at ~2500 posts which crosses the whole thing over from "a few pics" to "a collection of Optimus-ian measures of creepy hoarding", especially since that's your most significant input to the site. Do I (or indeed, most people) like to take an occasional look at a magazine cover at a news stand? Don't we all. But then we pay for our donut and coffee and move on, and we certainly don't hoard images of them for everyone else, especially not after they've been explicitly flagged as unwelcome.

See, objectification isn't a matter of opinion, it's not like the boogeyman that goes away once you stop believing in it; it's a sociological behavior that has been around and written about at great length. Think of it as evolution or climate change: you can deny it, but the evidence won't go away and the situation won't change. And whether you're part of the problem is not dependent on geographical location or sexual preference or any arbitrary criteria other than attitude, and not on whether you're malevolent or benign, but whether you act on it or not, and of course how you react to people calling you out on it. (Sidenote: it does make it all the more spectacular when someone does - maybe even someone from your country.)

Not so long ago you raised a fairly haphazard point about newcomers - what if they're women? Would I want to see a potentially talented female coder / artist visit Pouet and see that the first thing on the BBS is a thread about girl pics? What would their impression of a demoparty be then where there's already an overwhelming male majority? I mean yeah, in 2014 most of them are probably used to this kind of tripe by now (sadly), but you'd think the demoscene would be better than that - and while we mostly are (we're not at boothbabe level - yet), there are often problems.
