Pocket PC device for demos?

category: general [glöplog]

Just see they sell lot's of old PocketPC on ebay cheaply enough and I was thinking to get a random one for watching some of the PPC demos.

I tried few demos in the past with Disgoo NetBrowser 3000 but misses the drivers to run this in non crappy speeds.
Then, I do have this. But it's running PalmOS, do I need WindowsCE for the PPC demos?

So, what could be a good target device for most of the PPC demos? I guess the CPU has to be ARM. But where there demos with specific hardware needed? Which brand are best and more compatible?

p.s. I know, I collect stuff recently, spend too much, just to be able to watch demoes on the real shit.

Most of the PocketPC stuffz I know of were made for some sort of iPaq with CE.

Thumbs up for watching demos on real HW - I am also a fanatic of that! :)
Haven't watched many of the PocketPC demos though, looking at the list it seems to be mostly the standard "port-to-ALL-the-platforms" demos there.
I do recall "Green Cheese" being rather nice, and I actually think I saw it on a real device as well, might have been on a friends IPAQ.

I had a 3D engine for the Pocket PC but I never really did anything with it and now mine is broke :/

That's great. Lot's of Ipaqs for under 30pounds.
Maybe I could port some of my demos too.

HP iPAQ rx5940 wasn't perfect for my demo - http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=31008
