Actually I'm not taking anything you say here too seriously. Didn't really think that was what I was supposed to do to be doing to be honest....

To me this is a serious issue. I've swam and fished in the ocean since I was young. I've also surfed and dived in the same ocean as I grew up. I've even caught a few sharks in my time.
Our Premier (State leader) with little or no outside consultation has decided that due to the "increased no. of attacks" he's going to allow commercial fishermen to "cull" (harvest) any sharks over 3m. using baited drum lines.

So let's first look at how drum lines work - a series of baited hooks on a line connected to floating drums. Any fish large enough can take the bait.

Then they swim themselves to death slowly trying to get away. Not exactly the same as hooking a shark and fighting it until you eventually land it on a boat or the shore, is it?
Then there's the whole "culling" process. Culling means you kill all of them, in this case, of a certain size (big enough for the hooks). That means all the biggest and meanest sharks, the ones who have reached the top of the food chain by defending their territory, fucking the most prolifically and eating anything smaller than them are going to be eradicated.

So many of the largest sharks off our coast are going die slow, ignominious, painful deaths simply because our Premier has decided that they should. If you don't think that's a serious issue then feel free to try my earlier suggestion.
