Another year, another Demosplash!
Come to Pittsburgh, PA, USA on October 4-5, 2013 to take part in Demosplash 2013! Demosplash is the largest party in the United States run exclusively on live, authentic hardware. We make our very best efforts to show each and every demo just as the authors intended.
This year Demosplash will feature a talk by Peter Smets on old-school arcade DRM, as well as workshops on Processing and openFrameworks for novice sceners. And of course there will be compos!

@party has had 80+ people packed in there for compos more than one year. I have the attendee lists to prove it, and can say who on them showed up or didn't for the compos.
And we do use live, authentic hardware (see our gear list).
That said, looking forward to seeing folks at Demosplash!

Perhaps its more accurate to say Demosplash is home one of the largest collections of actively maintained retro computers in the country. not sure how it compares to Vintage Computer Festival events
I won't be able to attend this year so pictures of said hardware or it didn't happen.
@Party doesn't mess around in the available authentic hardware department either. loads of authentic hardware in 2013. trunkload of commodores in 2010. Telstar in 2012. mac se in 2011.
Good luck this weekend. I hope to see lots of prods, pictures and presentations posted.

In other news, hello Pittsburgh! So far I have seen "the transit" (TRANSIT IS NOT A NOUN!), a chatty cabbie, some bits of city, some bits of CMU, lots of bridges, and a hotel, where they wrap the coffee stirrers in paper for no apparent reason.
