Why are the prod titles so badly mangled here?

Most people back up to a space that's not their primary computer drive and not used all the time. If it's RAID, then old drives can be swapped out before failure or even if it does happen to fail, the data contents can be rebuilt without loss. You should really research these things.

If the player I own can't tell me how much space is used (I'm sure it can, I've just never bothered to find out), my sync software certainly can. It's not some mysterious value nobody ever reveals.
Just out of curiosity, AMcBain, do you consider Microsoft's own "Robocopy" to be a good mirroring tool? I've used it for a while and found no problems myself. But I don't know what you all think of it. At least it's part of Windows and free.

I've not heard of Robocopy before. I did use Microsoft SyncToy a few times, it was kinda meh. rsync is a good option, and is available for all three major platforms. There's plenty of apps out there, I believe, that support the same protocol as the original rsync tool.
I've decided that, in respect to the democoders out there who work hard and get nicely pissed to create our entertainment and dazzle us with their skills, that I will name my Demoscene MP3s exactly as they are shown on their prod pages on Pouet.net.

Or just get a 2nd HDD and make a RAID1. When one drive crashes, you buy a new one, rebuild the degraded volume, and life goes on. No messing around with external storage.

I was simply deciding how to title tag my demoscene MP3s so that I could identify them quickly and easily, but accurately, and decided that Pouet's naming convention was the way to go.
And on a related note, CamelCase is a BAD idea for naming MP3s - the spaces really help (see previous posts).

Foebane72: The idea (I suppose) behind group name order in prods is always arbitrary, and we usually follow whatever the prod (or nfo file, etc.) says. I guess generally it's decided by whichever group felt to be contributing the most to that given prod, or whichever group should get the "highest billing". But again, doesn't really matter. I guess you would have the same problem with artist names as well, if 2+ people worked on a song.

Artist > Category (Commercial, Demoscene, Film & TV, Games)
Album > Section (#AB, CDE, FGH, etc)
Title > Artist + Title
I've done it this way for years now.
Call it strange or not, but it's personal preference ;)

I can somewhat sympathize. I spent a lot of time organizing my music by genre and artist at some point years ago and it was really frustrating to deal with all kinds of edge cases until I finally caved in and just put everything on iTunes. Now Steve Jobs manages them for me and I'm happy :P
Categorizing music by genre is futile anyway :D

I did seriously think of getting an HDD, but then I thought: why get a 500Gb HDD just to store 11Gb of data, thereabouts? I could fit the whole thing on three DVD+Rs - and indeed, have in the past.
