why do invitations always win democompos?
category: offtopic [glöplog]
Not sure if such a topic is already here, but, really, why?
The premise is false.
Generally, IF they do (far from always), it's because of unconditional effort invested: you can release a crappy demo and get away with it, but releasing a crappy invitation can turn people off from the party, which in turn can damage the organizers financially.

Also they don't.
Also they don't.
What numtek said.
Why do demos with cubes always win democompos?
What I find more annoying, is the reason why the best demo with the fanciest graphics always wins. Usually they also have a good soundtrack and kick ass direction and so on. What is the reasoning behind all this, why do these type of demos always win?
Actually, the best demo always places second. What's up with that?!

@numtek: No one will ever know. It is one of the unsolved mysteries of the scene.
@gaspode: hogwash. that's just how democracy works.
Several times there is a democompo where all demos bore me except the invitros. Maybe because they are trying to be more attractive and with a more consistent theme trying to lure people to visit that demoparty, while many of the others are just a bunch of random effects and scenes we have seen before.
It only works for nordic demoparties.
